The amazing Loudon Wainwright III is playing on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th Eddie's Attic. He’s one of America’s great songwriters. If you don’t have plans on one of these nights (and if tickets are still available) you should absolutely not miss him.
He’s always been one of my favorite songwriters and performers, and arguably, his music helped lead me into a life of loving songwriters. He has also created some amazing songwriters/singers, too (including his daughter Lucy Wainwright Roche-who has played the Grocery numerous times).

Please notice that this amazing show tomorrow is not at the Grocery, but it’s at the amazing new Westside Motor Lounge. Skyway Man band show. James has played a number of times at the Grocery and they are always our favorite shows. If you are looking for great music tomorrow in Atlanta, this is not to be missed.

Music will soon be back at the Grocery. In the meantime, next Tuesday, April 25th, the Civil Rights icon, American hero, and all-around incredible American James Meredith, will be in conversation at UTA Artist Space in Atlanta for the closing week of Lonnie Holley’s “The Eyes Were Always on Us” exhibition. Doors are at 6:30 and the talk will begin at 7pm. Don’t miss this chance to hear the brilliant James Meredith speak. He will be 90 in June, so we are so lucky he will be in town for this event. Our dearest buddy Christopher Paul Stelling is in the final days of raising funds to complete his seventh album, which will be a double album. You can help out by preordering the record through his Kickstarter. We’ve been pretty quiet here at the Grocery lately, but are excited to have a show with Chris once this album is funded. If you support it, we will make sure you are invited to the celebratory show at the Grocery in the next few months. Let’s help him get this over the finish line. You know what to do.

Just checking in with everyone. It’s been a very tough several years for live music, but I wanted everyone to know we haven’t forgotten about you. As the year progresses, I’m determined to get some things going again at the Grocery. Music is still being made and Lord knows musicians need the support now more than ever. Let me know if a small and intimate environment for hearing great music is still something that interests you, and we will clean up the space and start thinking about getting us all back together again.
