Mark your calendars for Reuse-a-Palooza at The Plant on October 27 from 11am to 3pm.

If you have old computers, screens, printers, servers, or other tech items, bring them to this event where PCs for People will be collecting and refurbishing them for redistribution to low-income individuals and families.

This initiative not only helps those in need but also reduces electronic waste, making it a win-win for everyone involved. Accepted items include desktop or laptop computers, phones, TVs and monitors (excluding CRTs), computer accessories, printers, hard drives, power cords, and servers.

All items will be accepted regardless of their condition, whether new, used, or broken.

This summer, we had the honor of collaborating with African Cultural Center to introduce the Young Tech Innovator Program, spearheaded by ZICT- ZiCloudTech, in line with our dedication to empowering youth.

What initially kicked off as a summer camp aimed at familiarizing students with advanced fields such as quantum computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, AWS/cloud computing, career development, and entrepreneurship, has rapidly evolved into a potent catalyst for societal transformation. Every participant received a laptop, empowering them to continue their journey of innovation and progress.

This collaboration is steering substantial change and securing a brighter future for our community.

A big shout out to Alliant Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the country, which successfully completed its spring technology donation drive, which raised 8,633 pounds of computer equipment to be donated to the PCs for People Foundation.

The collected equipment includes desktop computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, and other peripherals, which PCs for People will refurbish and distribute to individuals and families who lack access to technology.

PCs for People Cleveland participated in a community collection event and a distribution event on June 1st.

We collected 7 pallets worth of e-waste weighing in at 5256 lbs., from the community and 3 pallets of the Mansfield Richland County Public Library weighing in at 2410 lbs. Overall we’re whooping 7666 lbs of e-waste collected in 2 hours.
