September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!
Many childhood cancer organizations around the world create awareness campaigns and raise funds for research regarding prevention and cure. The American Childhood Cancer Organization also encourages everyone to spread awareness for the cause by wearing a gold ribbon. Play a role in the initiative by spreading the message.💛

September is National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month. The National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center (NSCISC) estimates that there are between 247,000 and 358,000 people living with spinal cord injuries in the United States, with about 17,700 new SCI cases each year (https://www.nscisc.uab.edu/.../Facts%20and%20Figures%20...). These injuries have serious, lasting impacts on the lives of these individuals.
This month is a time to raise awareness of spinal cord injuries and the need for more research in this area. At GHI we are here to support, encourage, and celebrate all of our patients with SCIs.

Intake and evaluation can typically take up to 30 days for service approval. Parents are involved with the development of their child's service plan of treatment along with any service goals.
