I’m intentional about showing up authentically in hopes that it’ll minimize the pressure for others to feel the need to be so perfect on social media. I talk about this a lot because behind the scenes ppl really struggle with getting the perfect shot or looking “perfect”. Having the perfect house. The perfect car. The perfect career. Perfect kids. Like what does that even mean????🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m sorry, that’s just not real and it’s keeping so many ppl stuck. Ppl are looking at their lives and feeling like they aren’t enough bc they can’t reach this strange level of perfection.

Trust me, I’m gonna do what I need to do when I need to do it, but ALWAYS in my own way.

I’ve been to DC many times, but this time was much different. I want to encourage you to take the training wheels off of your destiny❤️ So long and thanks

Celebrate your wins, even the little ones. Don’t go with the flow, GROW with the flow. ALWAYS be coachable. Appreciate the circle you pour into and the circle that pours into you. An attitude of gratitude is the recipe, literally. You’ll get what you seek, good or bad so be careful. Your mouth and mind are the gateways to your next level, GUARD THEM. My fellow mompreneurs, just know I truly go to batt for yall. I see yall. The sacrifices you make and the hard work you put in. I had the opportunity to sit down with Senator Jon Ossoff today to talk about funding/grants for minority owned and women owned businesses. Running a business is HARD and being a minority woman doesn’t make it less hard.

We all use our voices differently, I’m just happy to use mine in a good way❤️

I see ppl post they don’t believe in God and that’s their personal choice, but the way God shows up for me I just can’t feel that way. I literally have to pinch myself at my life sometimes. Deep down inside this black woman is a black girl who refused to quit. Who refused to let the odds against her define her. Who refused to let life happen TO her and learned how to allow life to happen FOR her. My parents taught me to speak and believe for every thing I wanted and it would be so. They didn’t tell one lie❤️

Everything you have or don’t have lies in the power of your tongue AND your mind. Watch your thoughts and watch your mouth. Not for others, but for yourself. I DO NOT SPEAK THINGS I DON’T WANT TO SEE COME TO PASS IN MY LIFE. Instead, I speak things that are so wild and crazy I scare myself sometimes🙌🏽

👉🏽If you’re going through hell, keep going. The blessing is on the other side.
👉🏽Walk into EVERY single room God puts you in like you belong, bc YOU DO or you wouldn’t be there. I tell myself this too. 💁🏽‍♀️
👉🏽There is nothing God can’t do and nowhere He can’t take you. Trust Him and His will.
👉🏽When you stop worrying and start worshipping you’ll see life as you never could’ve imagined.

As always, I’m not perfect but I pray. If you wanna know what I do differently, I work hard, worship and trust God. In return, He shows up in my life in ways I couldn’t even imagine.

🗣🗣Long post alert:

I lost my mother at 9 years old. If you’ve lost your mother, then you know it breaks something in you that I don’t know can be fixed. I struggle with Mother’s Day bc being a mom is one of the best things that ever happened to me BUT being without my mom is one of the worst things to ever happen to me. I do my best, but I’m not gonna lie and say it gets easier as time goes on. It feels harder each day. The older I get, the more I need her.

I’m big on experiences and making the best out of everything even when I have to force myself to see the good in something. I refuse to see a glass half empty.

A few months ago I found this place and thought of everyone I wanted to take who I felt needed it and would enjoy it. From family to friends. I was planning to take them all.

Fast forward, my sister surprises me with the very thing I felt others needed…a break. Deep relaxation away from everything and everyone. I needed to let go of life for a minute, even though my mind wanted to be busy as I soaked in this super tranquil saltwater pod. Yes, I meditate every morning yet I still had trouble relaxing at first. I couldn’t stop being all things. I couldn’t stop thinking all things. I literally had to do something I haven’t done in a very long time and let go. I mean truly detach for the full experience. I floated into pure tranquility.

Moms, when is the last time you’ve truly had nothing to do? Nothing and nobody to think about? Nothing that needed your attention? I spent my day as God intended, taking time for me. I have no complaints. I am loved and appreciated. I had the best mom and I want to continue being the best mom I can be for my babies.

Motherhood is a complicated one, but it’s the only hood for me❤️ I believe in angels on Earth bc I’m surrounded by them. I literally have the best children, siblings and family.

I pray you all took time for yourselves and did something that made you smile. I smile about something every single day and I love that.

The beach is getting whatever body I give it! Respectfully🤎

Can we not be so perfect this year?

I don’t mean lose yourselves, but show more REALity? Everybody talks about depression and death rates but not the fact that ppl are struggling every single day to live up to UNREALISTIC “goals”. 🙄 Can we be honest that it’s not always pretty? It’s not always perfect. That we take a million pics to get our right angles and obsess over one hair out of place. That we didn’t all “wake up like this” and many of us worked night and day to post the fruits of our labor. The truth is, it wasn’t overnight for many of us.

This is for the moms all over the world running businesses with babies in their laps and on their hips. For content creators taking their own pics and editing their own videos to fight an ever growing algorithm. The workers who are overworked and underpaid just trying to live their best life. Those who live in regular houses and drive regular cars. Those who choose their OWN journey every single day over begging God for somebody else’s blessings.

It hurts my heart to hear ppl say they’re afraid to post their content bc it’s not “good enough” or “aesthetically pleasing”. To who? For who? Who gets to say what’s good enough? Put your work out and your ppl will find you.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Keep going. Always let God find you working instead of always waiting. This is how I’ve been working today. Camera, ring light, makeup kit to the left, my baby in lap!

Don’t sit still. Even if you move slow, keep moving in the right direction! Happy 🤎
