As we were demoing the ’s at NAMM, brought over the Legendary to take a listen.
and I began to talk about the great sound from the monitors.
But me being curious (and a little starstruck), I asked him a question about a song he mixed for Amy Winehouse. Then we really started talking.
I learned so much about the craft of music mixing in this encounter from this man. We ended up talking for over an hour. He gave me his contact info and said “Call Me Man…” And call I did.
I would call him for advice and tips when I was stuck on a song, and his answers were always golden. Although I never got to see him again, I cherished those calls and what he gave me freely. All of those lessons via phone and text he gave me I still use today.
His Greatness was Hidden Within His Humility…
