Change in our communities begins with the organizers, the everyday people who roll up their sleeves and get to work. That's why we’re dedicated to powering the grassroots – and we need your support to keep pushing forward. We are working tirelessly in states like Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and many others. Your donation can assist us in these states with canvassing, phone banking, rallies, resource distribution, hotels and even help fuel the Blackest Bus in America. Money often goes to candidates and parties, but we know the real change-makers are in our neighborhoods. When you give to BVM you're investing directly in the power of the people. Maryland Wrap Up
That’s a wrap, Maryland! Our two-day tour with Life After Release and the Expand The Ballot Expand The Vote Coalition has been amazing. We kicked things off in PG County, where we saw a fantastic turnout of people ready to uplift their communities and get involved in voting.
At the Robert C. Marshall Rec Center in Baltimore, our GOTV Rally was a highlight. Formerly incarcerated individuals shared their powerful stories of reclaiming their voting rights. Their resilience inspired us all and highlighted the importance of staying engaged.
Maryland, don’t forget: Early voting starts October 24, and you can request a mail-in ballot in person until November 5 by 8 PM. Your vote matters, and every election shapes our future.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this tour a success. Next stop for Bus 2? Pennsylvania! 🚌
Black voters hold the power to shape the future of our communities and our country. Through our collective voice and our votes, we can demand justice, equality, and the policies that benefit our lives. Let's harness this power and show the world what it means when Black people organize, mobilize, and turn out to the polls. It’s not about a party or a particular candidate - it’s about US. For years, we've stood with hundreds of grassroots organizations in North Carolina, empowering Black voters and tackling the issues that matter most: voting rights, healthcare, education, and the economy. This isn't just about any battleground – it's about our communities, our future. Black voters are the DECIDING FACTOR. That's why we're dedicated to being on the ground 365, knocking on every door, making sure our communities have the resources they need. The stakes have never been higher. YOUR OWN DRUMMER
🚨 Some politicians want to divide us—fueling fear and conflict to grab power. But we know better.
For Black communities, real change comes from unity and strength. We must stand together, push for our collective power, and shape our own destinies. Our votes are our voices, and they’re crucial in determining our future.
We’re choosing our freedoms, our futures, and a better life. Join us and let’s build the change we want to see. #BlackVotersMatter ✊🏾
🚨CHECK YOUR STATUS NOW!
Thousands of voters have been wrongly marked as inactive in Louisiana - their names and addresses were even published in the newspaper. This is a blatant attempt to silence our voices and diminish our power. We’re here with our partner Marilyn Mitchell from the Vermilion Parish NAACP alongside A New Chapter PUSH to make sure every eligible voter is registered and ready to make their voice heard in November. #WeFightBack ✊🏾Check your status: blackvotersmatterfund.org/vote
Listen to Black men. #BlackMenMatter ✊🏾
We’re here at the University of Louisiana Lafayette with members of the Black Male Leadership Association. For too long, the voices of Black men have been marginalized and their power diminished by a system that denies them the resources they need to thrive. It's time to shatter the stereotype that Black men are apathetic about politics. The truth is, they have a clear vision for their communities and the changes they want to see. From racial justice to economic empowerment, education to healthcare. Their voices have been drowned out for far too long by a society that gives them too little and demands too much. This election let's make sure we're not just asking for their votes, but actually listening to their demands. Let's give them the resources they need to organize and mobilize and amplify their voices so they can't be ignored. #WeFightBack #BlackVotersMatter ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Texas, Check Your Status!
Say it LOUD, I’m BLACK and I’m PROUD! Bus 1 is rolling through Nigton, Texas! Today, we came across voters who thought they were registered but removed from the voter rolls. Thankfully, we were able to assist in getting these issues fixed. This is why the work is so important. Through organizing, we can ensure that rural Black voters are not forgotten in our democratic process. #BlackVotersMatter #WeFightBack ✊🏾
We Fight Back for reproductive freedom and funding for HBCUs.
We're fighting on multiple fronts, and your voice is crucial.
Dr. Keyona N. White, a powerful leader and Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Wiley University, knows this all too well. As the Executive Director of the Heman Sweatt Center for Social Good & Leadership, she's on the frontlines of the war for our rights.
In Texas, the attack on reproductive freedom has never been more prominent. Restrictive laws are cutting away at Roe v. Wade, putting the health, autonomy, and freedom of Black women at risk. This isn't just about abortion – it's about our right to control our own bodies and lives.
But that's not the only battle we're facing. For too long, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in Texas have been shortchanged, not receiving the funding they deserve. This isn't just about money; it's about the value of Black education and the future of our young people. Nationally, HBCUs are owed over $13 BILLION.So, we're fighting back.
We're fighting for reproductive freedom, for affordable healthcare, for HBCUs, and for the protection of Black education. We're fighting because our lives, our rights, and our future matter. Will you join us? Text WEMATTER to 25225. #WeFightBack
