Henry County now has a population of 262,552 adding 21,000 plus people since 2020! More growth is coming and we are preparing with nearly a billion dollars to widen nearly every major highway in the next 5-7 years with the Splost 1 cent sales tax passed by voters , Transportation Splost approved by voters, federal funding, and state funding. Plus a new Henry County transit system with fixed stops launching late 2024 or early 2025.

Traffic improvements are underway or coming to Henry County plus a $1.2 Billion truck only lane project from Savannah to McDonough! New leadership is committed to improving traffic congestion.

Nearly $100 million in repaving highways and streets by Henry County, GDOT, and the four cities

Million in trails and sidewalk improvements.

A $1.2 billion commercial trucks only road project from the Savannah port to McDonough to help relieve truck traffic on I-75. (2025). It should be noted hundreds of additional trucks will be coming through metro Atlanta with the Savannah port doubling in size and truck volume. The trucks are coming regardless of what we do the question is whether we will attempt to prepare for them coming with projects like the Bethlehem Interchange. It should be noted Cobb, Gwinnett, Fulton, and DeKalb have much more warehousing and truck traffic than does Henry County. The difference is they have other industries to diversify their economies.
