Parents’ Weekend at Lodge!

Anyone else still got summer on the mind? This summer:
-Leo lead a backpacking trip in Alaska as well as backpacking in Washington and Georgia
-Allen went on a trip to Vegas with his startup company RF Poker, where his coworker Dan Weinman won $12.1 million at the World Series of Poker Main Event
-Carlo went on a great American road trip, visiting almost every state
-Brantley worked as a paint scientist for Imerys, as well as seeing his idol Taylor Swift
-Shail visited the White House while interning for Humana, as well as photographing bears in Alaska
-Owen survived an encounter with Gus Fring

Happy 182nd Convention of Chi Psi! We were privileged to host our Alpha’s centennial here at Georgia Tech, and this was certainly the best convention to date.

First, we were honored to receive the Thayer Trophy, the most prestigious Chi Psi award given each year to the best Alpha! Congratulations to the actives and alumni who put in so much effort to make Lodge and convention great, and especially congratulations to our glorious leader, Samuel Jing. We were thrilled for our recent alumnus Noah Horton, ΙΔ ‘23, who received the Stanley J. Birge Award, and for Brett Allen, ΙΔ ‘89, and M. Daniel Berman, ΙΔ ‘57, who were each presented with Distinguished Service Awards. Finally, congratulations to Curtis Wellbrock, ΙΔ ‘76—the newest recipient of our local Always A Chi Psi Award.

We were excited to welcome other Alphas to the Georgia Aquarium, the Presidential Suite in Bobby Dodd Stadium, and our very own Lodge. We even had the honor to have a quartet comprised of our own Iota Delta brothers—Noah Horton, Joseph Henry Monti, Daryn Roberts, and Brantley Deady—sing during the banquet.

Today we held our 2022 Oscar Virgil Bryan Jr. Memorial Scholarship Banquet. Congratulations to James Cullison for winning this prestigious award! Thank you for all of the great candidates for participating this past summer, and we look forward to next year’s scholarship!
