We are very lucky that patients travel to see us from all over the country.
In order to do that successfully and put a new smile on our patient’s face that requires a proven system and terrific teamwork in our office and with all of our partners.

Our patient visited us from Colorado.
A friend of hers had a smile makeover a few years before and she was envious of her beautiful smile and felt it worth traveling to Atlanta . The biggest concern she had was the darkness and shapes of her teeth and crowns.

After her consultation with us, we developed a plan to replace her previous crowns and design veneers for the remaining upper teeth.

As we designed her new smile , we find tuned her gums with our laser to improve the symmetry and balance.

Now she loves her new smile and has boosted confidence personally and professionally. Her husband is very happy too .

There are many reasons why people fear going to the dentist. Of course, there is the usual concerns about discomfort, time, and cost.

Another big one is the fear that their smile won’t look great in the end . Since we live in a world of seeing plastic surgery, that gets botched on some “ reality shows “, it would make sense that people are afraid that that might happen to them. That is one of the reasons why we published a consumer book called ”A Smile is Always in Style” so that our patients are less fearful and in more control of the final result as we build a collaborative relationship with them .

Our featured patient came to see us because she too wanted a great smile for many years, but was afraid that it wouldn’t turn out well.

As you can see her biggest concern was the spaces between her teeth, but also that her upper left teeth didn’t show very well in her smile because of shorter edges making her smile look tilted ( photo A)

While orthodontics was a potential option, the length of time involved was an issue. In addition, since we were adding to her tooth structure and the procedure would be very conservative, veneers were a better option in this case.

As we do with all of our cosmetic cases, digital and analog planning are essential.
That allows us to verify our plan clinically, but also to do a “ mockup “ using a putty matrix and a tooth colored material ( photo B).

When we do this, our patients get to “ experience “ their new smile before we begin treatment.

How do you spell “ relief “?
Like magic, the emotions shift from
anxiety to joy. We hear “ Wow” every single time we do this! And our patients love to have a real time picture of how their new smile to look at before we perform the makeover ( photos C and D).

Originally she had spaces between her teeth and three different dentists choose not to recommend braces to close her spaces. in addition, the color in shape of her upper front four teeth were not natural looking, as well as , the gums were unhealthy, red, and uneven.

Fortunately for her, after we got her gums and bite healthy, we reshaped her gums with an . That allowed us to enhance her front and side smile with porcelain designed to be beautiful and believable.

Doesn’t everyone love a fairytale ending?

Our patient came to see in December after having the roughest year, anyone could ever imagine. She had always dreamed about having a beautiful smile. Just never trusted a dentist-not only with her comfort; but most importantly, with her smile

The smile was a big challenge, because she was missing her lateral incisors and the canines were moved orthodontically in their place. Those are big teeth in a very delicate area of the smile.

On top of that our patient was a world-class heavy clencher.

Fortunately, with the help of our lab and advanced technology, like using an Erbium laser and The Wand, we were able to comfortably rejuvenate her smile and confidence.

One of the keys to living a longer and better life is getting higher quality sleep. This is well documented in the scientific literature and with and podcasts.

Snoring is a a precursor of sleep apnea.
It usually occurs when air is not able to move freely through your nose and mouth during sleep. This is due to the narrowing of your airway, which causes the tissues to vibrate, and make an audible sound. Many conditions can contribute to snoring, such as age, nasal and sinus problems, being overweight, alcohol, smoking medications, sleep posture, and more.

Snoring has a number of consequences that can impact the life of a snorer and his/her sleep partner. Sleep deprivation, as result of snoring, has a negative impact on health and quality of life. Snorers can experience, tiredness, morning, headaches, irritability, dry, mouth, and relationship difficult difficulties studies of also shown a link between snoring and increased risk of serious , health conditions including cardiovascular disease and decreased brain health.

For years, CPAP’s were considered the “ gold standard “. Sleep appliances are an adjunct. Both rely on compliance which is frustratingly unpredictable.

We have chosen to improve our patients sleep health/ snoring using . It is a non-invasive, painless, and effective way of reducing or eliminating snoring. Using Weezer energy to gently heat. The tissues of the airway causes a tightening effect, which helps to keep your airway open. Guess what happens when you have spaces that could have been treated with orthodontics, and instead we’re treated with crowns with no attention paid to the health of the gums?

You haven’t very unhappy frustrated patient who was embarrassed with her smile.

Jan was referred by friend who had previously had a smile makeover with us. Though she was very mistrusting of dentistry from her previous care, she was very grateful and appreciative when she met us. We took the time to analyze her problem and come up with creative solutions that not only were scientifically sound, but also were efficient in managing her busy schedule, which also included 4 hour round-trip visits to see us.

Using smile imaging and 3-D blueprinting, as well as laser sculpting and biostimulation , we replaced her old defective, unattractive crown and placed veneers on her side teeth to broaden her smile and improve proportions.

without a doubt, our patient is ecstatic and eternally grateful to give back her confidence and charisma .

Our patient had a major face plant last weekend and injured her hand, as well as her lip and front teeth . Fortunately, she had a horizontal fracture of her front and was able to keep it. That would allow us to reattach her natural tooth structure and restore shape and contour as it was before the accident. Also we are trying to avoid a less conservative and more expensive procedure.

Unfortunately, no one at the hospital knew to ask the right questions about her front tooth., such as
1) Did she still have a piece of her tooth?
2)If she did, was it being kept moist?

VERY IMPORTANT FACT
Just like bones,teeth are living and breathing entities with active biologic functions. Though the tooth was fractured, keeping the fractured part, moist preserves its color and keeps it from getting dehydrated. Notice how opaque it looked in photo #1.

Over a few days,the missing part of the tooth initially with saline, and then with milk to restore the internal and external color.

When are our patient returned, we’ve were able to reattach the tooth with air abrasion, a special universal bonding agent from , luting with a flowable composite and light curing with Bluephase Powercure from .

No more embarrassment social because of her appearance and speech impediment. She cried for joy. So did my assistant and I!

Mini makeovers have powerful results!

Creating the confidence to smile is always challenging - especially if you are missing one or two teeth. Making implant supported crowns “ invisible” in a smile takes patience and support from a talented periodontist like .

Our patient is ecstatic that end of the journey turned out so amazing. We “second that emotion “ and happy to change her life on many levels.

Creative thinking and advanced allowed us to conservatively enhance our patient’s appearance in a conservative and comfortable manner.

Our patient travelled all the way from Boston to enhance her smile to be “ bigger and brighter” before her wedding.

Our expert ceramist Wayne Payne designed her new appearance to build out her bicuspids so her smile was wider and more noticeable; while also replacing her previous veneers. “Beautiful, believable, and stunning” were her fiancée’s words. We certainly agree!

Transforming someone’s smile is a huge responsibility. Especially with today’s case, with a history of fear and recent medical and personal challenges in the past year. Also, she is missing her lateral incisors and the canines look too big and unnatural.

One of our favorite tools to help our patients is using PreVu software to help visualize and collaborate with our patients on their ultimate destination.

In addition, we assist our patient and ceramist with digital smile design using Exocad to truly dial in the functional and esthetic “ blueprint “ on our jaw simulator.

As they said, in the movie “ Apollo 13”:

Today is literally our Smile for her. It’s gonna be a huge win for her life.

Sometimes bad things happen when you’re on vacation . Breaking a front tooth is not only physically debilitating.
Of course , it’s emotionally stressful because you lose your smile and your ability to exude joy and confidence.

Thankfully for our patient, we were able to quickly rescue his appearance with some special techniques.

Here’s the backstory :
Prior to seeing us, our patient had a root canal after getting hit in the face while playing basketball in high school. Since the tooth had not fully developed to full strength, it was weak and unfortunately at risk in the future. As luck would have it, he broke his tooth while traveling overseas was referred to us by a loyal patient.

Our solution was to replace the unfixable tooth with an immediate implant with some bone grafting and a transitional crown , while he healed for four months.
No doubt, our patient was grateful to feel like himself again.

In the past, he hated the space between his front teeth and also wanted his smile to be whiter. So we developed a plan to brighten his teeth and correct the space while making sure the proportions and symmetry look natural with some laser gum reshapingconservative neighboring porcelain veneers next to implant supported crown.

Our fabulous ceramist did an amazing job helping our patient’s smile look beautiful and believable.

We now have another “ ambassador “ for !
