Twenty-five years ago this week, the 1996 Olympics had officially ended in Atlanta, changing our city forever. It's also significant, in that 25 years ago this week, at age 40 (okay, now you know how old I am!🧐🤪), I got the courage to "hang out my shingle" and open Buckhead Pediatric Dentistry, changing my life forever! My motivation was simple: I wanted to be closer to Harrison's school and closer to home, and I wanted to be able to set my own hours and my own days. Granted, our hours weren't always the most convenient for all our patients, but I got to be a mom (🥰) ~ and because of that I felt like I was able to become a better pediatric dentist! It's been an amazing 25 years with such an incredible array of patients and families who have passed our way and taught me (actually all of us in the practice) so much. 💝 What an honor and privilege it's been to watch kids grow up from "itty-bitties" to amazing young adults.........and then to have "grandpatients" is just the coolest thing yet! I'm truly humbled - but, as in all things, it takes a village. Thanks to all the incredible staff who've been there (especially Ann Elizabeth, Darla, Gloria, Marilyn and Beth - who have all been there around 20 odd years....and Lisa, who's also been there a long time). Special recognition to Dr. Mike Stewart, who I initially shared space with (so I could be a mom AND pay the rent!) and convinced me we could have a successful practice in Buckhead! And then one day, in 2005, my friend in NYC, Dr. Margot Jaffe, convinced me I needed to consider hiring her associate who was moving to Atlanta. SHE was Dr. Stacy Piedad, the best partner (since 2011 - 10 years! Whoo-Hoo!!!🎉) ever........it was when Stacy arrived that I realized I wasn't the "young one" anymore!!!🙃😆 I'm also so incredibly grateful for the dental and medical community we've been blessed to be a part of - the support and knowledge base of so many fantastic and generous colleagues and specialists over the years has been simply invaluable. Of course, none of the last 25 years would have been remotely possible for me without my rock and love of my life, Walton - who has endured seemingly endless hours of listening to dental stories🥱😴🥴 and has counseled me thru the myriad of anxieties that go along with running a business. (If you've ever run a business, you know what I mean!) He's been there thru all the tears and fears, laughter and joy.......and STILL loves me!!!😍 And, to my dear son, Harrison, who taught me so much more about child and adolescent behavior (and chipped teeth) than we EVER learned in residency!!! 😁😆😉 (AND, you were a great employee!!!) I love you two soooo much!!💖💖💖

So Happy 25th, BPD!!! Keep on Keepin' On!!! And here's to many more years ahead.........(and "May the Floss Be With You!!!!") 🎉🎂🍨🎁🎊🎈💝
