Remembering The Bankhead Drive-In..Atlanta, GA
The Bankhead Drive-In Theatre was located on Bankhead Hwy in Atlanta, GA. Now an industrial site sits on the property. Share your memories as well!!!
This was a unique drive-in theatre in the fact that it had a house in the screen tower!
The Bankhead Drive-In's marquee taken from both sides from the late 1970's. Images contributed by Doug DeLoach, and pictures taken by drive-in enthusiast Bill Stevens. Wow neat sign!
Here's a collage of images I put together showing the old Bankhead Drive-In Theater throughout the years! Enjoy the look back! :-)
Here's a really brief film clip showing the intersection of Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Bankhead Highway with the Bankhead Drive-In's marquee visible on the corner from Wednesday, June 25, 1980. This is from that story WSB-TV did on the location of the Utility Poles at that intersection. This is also the clip I made the screen grab from showing the Bankhead's marquee. Film clip courtesy of "The Walter J. Brown Media Archives" at UGA. Really interesting to look back on! :-)
