Our House opened its doors in March 1988 to offer reliable, free childcare to metro Atlanta families experiencing homelessness. The work continues to this day as we know the years between birth and age 5 set the stage for a child’s ability to become a healthy, independent adult.

Last month, Our House became an official Head Start/Early Head Start Grantee! For years, we’ve offered critical educational and developmental programs to children from birth to age five. We look forward to expanding our services to better support the needs of low-income families and those experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

We are thrilled to announce that as a proud member of Target: BP™, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Medical Association (AMA) have recognized us for our dedication to improving blood pressure control among our adult patients!

Our Director of Advanced Clinical Services, Jennifer Rossingol, shares, "Our partnership with the AHA and Target: BP initiative has allowed us to implement BP screenings for all clients and create life-saving protocols for treating hypertension. Each week, we see clients with dangerously high blood pressure, and we provide same-day care, including exams, lab testing, and medication to prevent ER visits. This makes a world of difference for our community!"

We've also introduced express blood pressure monitoring visits to encourage follow-up care without long wait times. Monitoring blood pressure with calibrated devices and trained staff is critical, and thanks to AHA, we are fully equipped to provide this essential service.
