Through this joint venture, we have successfully rehabbed and renovated one of our properties, transforming a once distressed property into a beautiful, livable family home in the Atlanta metro area.

Promise Homes’ MDDP pilot reflects our unwavering commitment to building and supporting minority businesses and entrepreneurs. This initiative is an extension of our Minority Vendor Program, which aims to create local, sustainable jobs for minority- and women-owned businesses by offering repair, maintenance, and turn jobs for the 600+ homes in the Promise Homes portfolio.

Promise Homes Lands $200 Million Debt Facility, Marking One Of The Largest Capital Raises For A Black Company In one of the largest capital raises for a Black company, Promise Homes has attained a $200 million debt facility to expand its housing business.

The Promise Homes Company Secures a $200 Million Debt Facility from Barings, the global investment management firm. Promise Homes is the largest black-owned company in the SFR rental space and this transaction represents one of the 10 largest capital raises for a Black-owned company over the last decade.

This facility is part of a recapitalization to form a new joint venture with other institutional investors to grow Promise Homes’ portfolio of single-family rental homes to an institutional scale, thereby providing investors expanded access to Promise Homes’ model of resident empowerment and attractive returns, while also expanding the reach of its unique financial incentive offerings to middle-class and working-class residents across the country.

Promise Homes plans to expand its resident engagement work, like financial literacy, its support of black, minority and women-owned vendor companies (about 65% of its vendors on average are amongst these groups), and rent-to-own opportunities for residents.
