One of our proudest moments was when one of our student participants changed his mind and decided to overcome his fear to present in front of the crowd. And because he decided to show up for himself, we created and held space for him to do exactly that. Everyone’s voice matters at summer camp. At Being The CEO of ME putting students in the driver seat of their learning experience allows them to: ✅ Rise to the occasion at their own pace ✅ Request help, support and decide at what level that looks like, feels like and shows up as ✅ FAIL Forward- developing grit and overcoming obstacles with a growth mindset 🎉And we celebrate the growth. 🎉We celebrate their strengths. 🎉We celebrate every single time they show up for themselves. 🎉Way to go Emerson!!! We are all so very proud of the way you don’t give up, and decided to show up- for YOU.🙌🏾

💁🏾‍♀️Did you know summer camp students had 4 days in our mini-camp to complete their capstone project and to learn topics we flesh out during our Afterschool sessions over 9 weeks and 2 field trips?! 😮‍💨🫡Talk about amazing dedication!! We are so proud of these students for rising to the occasion, and can’t wait to kick off the rest of the school year starting this fall! 🙌🏾

Our Program Coordinator, Mrs. Pamela Mosley-Brown, owner of Brown & Mosley Consulting is the backbone for what we do for students through our Being The CEO of Me Youth Entrepreurship, Career & College Readiness Program! Where do we begin?! Our partner, Dedra Carby of DC Mentoring has been such a phenomenal part of the team! Not only is Mrs Carby the ELA coordinator at Bennett’s Mill Middle School, but she’s the glue that kept all things working together during camp behind the scenes! From helping to make sure we had student check-in documentation, to providing resources for parents all week, camp definitely is a breeze when Mrs Carby is on board!
