Happy Juneteenth! A day of joy, freedom and resilience.

June 19, 2024 marks the third consecutive year of Juneteenth as a federally recognized United States holiday.

Also known as Freedom Day, Emancipation Day or America’s second Independence Day, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S. after the Civil War.

Many Americans have celebrated it annually for more than a century, even though the holiday was not officially added to the national calendar until 2021.

What a journey it’s been!

Our founder/CEO Josette Hutton Evans is so grateful to gain in-depth knowledge and insight into our school system as a graduate of the Inaugural Community Leadership Academy of Henry County Schools. 🎉🎓

As we near the end of the school year, Josette will be leveraging these past months of building blocks from CLA to incorporate what she’s learned to increase partnership opportunities across our Partners In Education framework here at , while working side-by-side with school and community leaders to bolster our commitment to help support student achievement and family engagement both inside and out of school experiences all across Henry County.
