It is Taco For The Cause Week! Our week long collaboration fundraising taco with our dear friends benefiting and ! This taco is a twist on an old favorite this time of year! Fox Bros Smoked Pork on a flour tortilla with Eddie’s spicy white bbq sauce and a hatch chile pico de gallo! All proceeds from the week long taco drive go to assist families with tamales with children battling pediatric cancer. Giving has never been this easy or tasty! On Sept 11 2001 at 8:46am American Airlines Flight 11 slammed into the North Tower of the WTC buildings, killing all on board that flight and eventually everyone above the 93rd floor, including over 100 guests and staff working the breakfast service at The Windows of the World Restaurant located on the 106th and 107th floor. 72 team members woke up and went to work that morning just like Amy other day and did not make it home after their shift at this iconic restaurant. Today and everyday we remember them and everyone that perished from this attack. #911

Daniel I don’t know how you do it, but it was great to see you and break some non barbecue bread with you in our home away from home in your recent travels through Georgia. 17 years ago today we opened our doors to the public. We had no idea what we were doing, but we had a vision and mission to make and serve the best we could and help put Atlanta back on a barbecue map. In those 17 years we have had a lot of ups and downs, but we live to learn and stay focused on moving forward. We have and have had so many amazing people on our team in those years who stood with us in our beliefs, and we are nothing without them all. These folks work so very hard and we appreciate them so much, they really are the best in the business! At the end of the day we would be nothing with out you, who open our door daily looking for comfort, we are grateful to you all for your loyalty and dedication to us. It feels like just yesterday, and it went by in a flash. But as we continue to look forward, it feels good to stop sometime and look back on all that happened over those years. Thank you everyone for allowing us to do what we love to do. Cheers.

We spent our morning with a half dozen dads (3 pictured here) who have children in CHOA who took the time away from their family to learn all about, trimming, prepping and cooking all kinds of Ribs. This was a Father’s Day gift from us to them! Their time is valuable, but it was an honor for them to break away and come enjoy some time and barbecue with us. One of our favorite days of the year. We hope they enjoyed it as much as us!

There is a hole in the heart of Texas Barbecue, well a hole the size of Texas today. John Brotherton of in Pflugerville Texas passed away at the age of 49 unexpectedly. While we may not have ever met in person John could be found in our messages checking in on how us Texas boys were doing in the state of Georgia. This kind of check in was not only common to us, but just about anyone in the barbecue business. John leaves behind a huge fan club in barbecue and a family at home. Our thoughts and prayers go out to John’s family and all of those close to him.
