This year will mark the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day ( ) on June 14th.
We recognize the millions of voluntary blood donors who have contributed to the health and well-being of millions of people around the world and the ABS Platelet Donors who have supported patients locally for almost 26 years! We recognize that we depend on volunteer donors for access to safe transfusions. We encourage eligible individuals to donate regularly and to encourage others to get involved!

UPDATE:
Tracking our Moms vs. Dads Platelet Challenge has been an exciting journey, and currently, they are neck and neck with 51 donors each! The burning question remains... will Moms make it happen OR will Dads get it done?

However, the reality is, we need more donors from both sides! We urgently need more platelet donors to assist local patients, especially with the school year ending and summer starting. We urge you to pledge your support regularly to help local patients in need!

April is National Volunteer month and there is not a better time to recognize and thank Marilyn and Joe! As volunteers for Northside Hospital-Atlanta Auxiliary they provide compassionate support and quality service to patients, families in the NSH infusion center. Now they are serving as platelet donors with ABS and helping recruit others to roll up their sleeves in support of local cancer patients! Way to go, Marilyn and Joe!
