7 years ago we signed up for little league at NYO. Who would of known at the time it was the start of something so memorable. We had no expectations, we really didn’t know a whole lot of people and I sure didn’t know much about baseball. I’ll never forget that first game, the little boy who ran to the dugout instead of home plate and claimed “I am home. This was sure to be the start of something beautiful.

The years passed and he got a little older, we met more people, we started making new friends, we signed our other kids up and it became part of our routine. It became part of our life and it quite honestly one of the best parts. We would see friends, hug old friends, meet new friends, cheer for other kids like they were our own. We became emersed in this little world, watching our little boy learn the game of baseball, learn to be a team mate and learn to be a part of something bigger. Some seasons were great and we won, some we lost but it didn’t matter because those things aren’t what really matters anyway. The good times mattered, the laughs, the lessons learned, the friendships formed those were what we held on too.

And now the years for Cole are done at Nyo and it’s bittersweet. I sit here crying at what was and how it all passed too quickly. I’m crying tears of happiness for all the memories made but mourning what I’m losing and leaving behind. It’s never easy to say goodbye to the end of something so wonderful. They call them the good old days and that couldn’t be anymore closer to the truth.

So while I’ve been your biggest fan over the years, cheering you on from the stands, this chapter of youth sports closes. The thought of leaving here hurts my heart like nothing I could have imagined. Yes I have two more to send through but my sweet first born your chapter is over and I couldn’t be more proud.

As always these chapters in life close but I’ll continue to watch you fly. As I watch you grow, it will be beautiful but with each chapter, I have to let go a little more. I knew that from the beginning but it never makes it easier. So thank you to NYO for this family you have created, for these memories that will last a lifetime, for the love of the game, for creating a place where lifelong friendships are made and the beauty of being a kid is the most important.

New year resolutions or new year words? Last year mine was intentional but I kinda got lost sight of it here and there.…Thinking about this year and focusing on what makes me happy and what I want more of not necessarily about changing something (although there is a lot to improve on😀). If I’m gonna work on something its gonna be to try and incorporate better routines into my day, getting up early, time blocking, etc… live to hear from you guys. Anyone have any they want to share., resolutions, goals, etc

2 more sleeps till Christmas and I don't feel even remotely ready but I always get there! I secretly love all the chaos and business because it adds to the excitement of the season! Today will be lots of wrapping and last minute secret Santa gifts with the boys!

So much to do and so few hours in the day! Currently at swim practice making lists of all my to dos for tonight! Lots of edits, a few good ole headswaps, culling and more culling, designing Christmas cards and prepping for a newborn shoot. Knocking it all out by Friday so I can have a much needed rest and fun at some Christmas parties!!!!

I think one of the biggest compliments I can get after a session is kids saying "that was fun!" or "can we take more pictures?" My goal at every session is to make it a fun experience for both kids and parents. Its so important to just relax and go with the flow and not worry about perfection. What is perfection is you being in the picture with your kids.

I love letting kids be kids at sessions! I always make it a priority to incorporate games, fun and things to make them naturally smile. When you look back in years I think its the fun pictures we will love the most, the ones that show us the joy of both motherhood and childhood!
