This is Hunting.

It will break your heart and you will go days without getting so much as a shot at an animal.
You will miss your shot.
You will see garbage in the bush, and have to pick it up.
You will wound something one day, and it will make you cry.

It will teach you life lessons.
You will learn that one more minute can make all the difference.
You will learn that life doesn't care...the weather warms up anyways, the wind changes direction, and all you can do is work with it.
You will learn patience and determination.

It will inspire you.
You will see a mother and her baby, and your heart will swell.
You will be humbled by that doe blowing at you, less than 10 yards away.
You will see the beauty of dawn.
You will learn the feeling of being prey.
You will see things so beautiful, others seem dull in comparison.
You will speak to another species.

This is hunting.
It will make you vulnerable.
You might cry over the animals you shoot.
You might make mistakes and fret over the what ifs.
You will face your own worst enemy in the bush: yourself.
You will have to walk through the dark, basically blind deaf and dumb.
You will learn the bittersweet feeling of letting an animal live, or choosing to kill one.
You will learn the important balance of life and death.

You will become ..... you.

You will learn passion, grit, strength, emotion, Independence, determination, empathy, silence and peace.

It is where you will learn your most valuable lessons.

It is where you will make your best memories.

It is where you will cry, laugh, and love.

It is where you learn to be still and be quiet.

It is what you will devote your life to, and never regret it.

This is what we call hunting

What a beautiful 32 degree morning first frost morning in the timber

Sometimes as we sit we really don’t know what will pass by or if something that passes by will even offer us a shot. Sunday morning 10-16-22 was a fantastic morning! It wasn’t to hot and was hardly any wind with bluebird sky’s. Seen few deer early and 8:45 rolled around and heard what I figured was a squirrel; I slowly turn to see a decent 8 point but he was young. Kept watching behind me as he walked directly under me as a 7 point ear width followed him. Off in the back was this guy watching them pass under me and out in front of me. He seemed to be fine with the situation as he then took the same path. As he gets by me I slowly stand grabbing my bow all in one motion and get turned to draw. He’s standing now broadside at 23 yards as I draw; I settle the pin touch the trigger, releasing the arrow and hearing the smack we all love to hear seeing that bright green Nockturnal Lighted Nocks on the end of a Arrowtech Archery MT arrow was a sight to see!! It was seconds I hear a loud crash to my left!!! Mature deer down early season success!!! 1 buck down 2 to go

Sometimes the difference in 150 yards is no pictures to these. To a bowhunter even 50 yards difference can be the difference between success and failure!!! We have to pick the right tree and have a little luck. This hunting this ain’t Hollywood

Well this weekend I had stared at some blank arrows long enough and finally built them now I need to sight them in. I went with a 4 fletch 3 degree helical I’m betting they fly like darts!!! They are 204 ID I’ve always used standard arrows these should have better pe*******on but that’s not usually a issue for me

You know, I’m so ready for deer season! I’m ready to be 25ft in a tree by myself. You know that longing you have ? To be alone with your thoughts no interruptions, no schedules , no stress. The time you have you really process your thoughts and remember who you really are. Maybe you have forgotten who you are or who you should be? Man I don’t know about you but I absolutely need that serenity!! Without it you never know what you might get from someone. People need a release the outdoors with a bow hanging in a tree is mine I wish all of you a great season !!! And may it top all the seasons you ever had and don’t take one sit for granted! You never know when your last time in the stand will be God Bless each of you !!!!

First little one of the year I’ve seen here in Macon county Alabama who’s all ready for the upcoming season

Finally the feeling of victory has poured itself on me like summertime thunderstorm downpours it’s rain!!! All the hard work you put in and hope all comes down for that spilt second of blessing. I sit and study cameras and weather, for what might you ask. To put together this outcome!! To get so close to animals you can hear them breathing and eating. To take those animals with just a bow. To feed my family and friends with pure meat graced by God almighty himself!! I hope each of you are blessed as I am with a loving wife and kids that loves wild meat, that they to also sacrifice time with daddy so he can provide for them.

I thought this was near information you may find interesting as well

I absolutely can not wait being in the woods really helps my mental health it’s so relaxing and stressful situations all at the same time but there’s not a care of the real world in your mind. It’s just you and your prey and your wits and in the end who actually wins the game you or the prey and the odds are always on the house as always pray hard hunt hard

With all the problems in this world, we should all go back to our roots some. Go out in the field take your comfort zone and expand it as a outdoorsman! I was with a great friend one evening doing this very thing you see me doing tonight in this video, I said Stephen you know it take a real dummy to sit out here in the dark with just a bow waiting on hogs to show up sun 20 yards!!! He said you know you’re right we are some dummy’s lol!!! However your senses come to life after dark. You hear things you wouldn’t normally as if you can pinpoint each sound. Sometimes it’s hard to hear anything other than the deafening sound of the frogs. You hear the call of the whippoorwill some close some afar. Off in the distance you hear that lonesome train. I challenge you to step out of your box and try something new you may find out you are really good at something new !!!! Last but not least I’d love to thank DonnieWayne Yates for always helping and supporting my outdoor dream along with Arrowtech Archery for a fantastic arrow beat arrow I’ve ever shot hands down thanks robert for helping and building a great arrow and to Luke Allison for a fantastic head i truly believe Tooth of The Arrow Broadheads is the best head to put on the end of any arrow !!!

Ain’t it the truth

Some people just don’t understand that stillness, the serenity one gets out there….your senses are much more active you can hear so much more out there, and for some it’s where you feel most alive, it’s where you figure out life’s problems in your head that you can’t quite figure out in everyday life. In the end it’s the adrenaline rush you get when you come face to face with the game you peruse! It’s so much more than hunting it’s a passion it’s an obsession it’s a vital need for so many it’s skill and wit, and determination, the fellowship and friends you make from all different backgrounds brought together by one passion to me that’s just scratching the surface of what I’d call the call of the wild

It’s gonna be 95 or so near dark tomorrow afternoon, however that’s not gonna stop me from sitting in that tree listening to the frogs come to life, lighting bugs dance without a care in the world. I’ll wait for the Boar hog that has evaded my arrow time after time again. He’s a smart ole hog with his circle he makes around the feeder first, more often than not he catches my ground scent. I’ll take a new path in tomorrow in Hopes he don’t make a big circle and catch the ground scent
