Jacinta is already looking ahead to finding her perfect Valentine February foster match!! 💘 So we are helping make her wish come true and are actively looking for a foster family or adopter. Like Winnie, who recently got adopted, Jacinta hasn't been noticed enough, despite having evrything anyone could ever dream of in a BFF. As you know, she has been waiting for this chance for almost one year now, so we have decided she should be flying to the #pnw in Frebruary to increase her chances. Meet & greets are one of the reasons why potential adopters have been discouraged to adopt one of our dogs. Our main priority and focus at Juno's Den are the dogs. If the dogs are well, adoptions will be successful regardless of a short meet & greet happening or not. What does this mean? It means we care for our dogs and our adopters' safety first and foremost. Our dogs are not housed in a local shelter for a reason. We believe they need to be as stress free as possible, and we work very hard to provide them with that as best as we can. Our dogs are not kenneled 24/7. They are socialized with other dogs, people, children, and even sometimes with cats. They are temperament tested for tolerance around potential distressors. They show us their limits and limitations, and we work to match them to families and situations where they will thrive. And, so far, we have succeeded in doing so. Does this mean the dogs are perfect? No, it doesn't. Does this mean we can anticipate how they will behave in infinite scenarios? No, we couldn't possibly do so. Does this mean that you get a bullet-proof dog all around? No, we wish this was the case. What this means is a 30-minute meet & greet is no guarantee for any of these things either. Further, it means we will be there for our dogs and you all the way, 100% when/if anything were to happen. Why? Because, as the founder and Executive Director of Juno's Den, I keep my word, and so does my Board of Directors. Because as a human that loves dogs, I'm committed to them since the minute I make them a promise they will never suffer again, for any reason, under any circumstances as long as I'm here to avoid it. There are no bad dogs anywhere. There are no perfect dogs either. These are just a few pictures of the work of "Huellitas Diferentes" to pull dogs out of compromising situations... rooftops, streets, overpopulated shelters. Juno's Den is just an opportunity for any of them to find a second chance. We are sister organizations, each doing what we know best to give all these dogs hope. Without the vets, without the temporary homes, without sponsors, without volunteers, without the everyday obstacles to overcome, without our own dogs, families and friends, our efforts would be vain and our lives would be fraught with pain and despair. But they are not. We have the greatest love between dogs and family we have chosen to embrace as our own in this journey. Saving one of these lives is meaningful and rewarding at the same time. That's all we can do to start changing the world for better. That's all we can do to honor our own humanity... You can do it too, by volunteering, adopting, fostering, sponsoring a dog, donating, educating others, spreading your love for dogs as much as you can! 🚨🚨🚨 Urgent help needed!! As much as I try, I simply cannot... I can't save them all, but I can't leave these sweet dogs to die when someone asks for my help. A good Samaritan in Guadalajara, Mexico just alerted me to this case. This dog was hit by a car and tried to dig a hole in the ground to protect himself from the heat. They are now giving him water and trying to help him, but he can't move. Seems like his back legs are injured. I don't have any funds to take on another rescue right now, but I know with your help we can at least take this baby to a vet and assess his injuries. I would be so grateful if you can help him... even a tiny donation or sharing can make the magic happen! Our good boy Clou-Clou was taken to the vet today for a 7-day stay to get daily electro-acupuncture therapy sessions to help with the mobility of his hind legs. The vet seems optimistic about it. She is suggesting also hyaluronic acid and an MRI down the road which will add to the expenses. I'm confident he will get better and will find a good home. In the meantime, he needs all the support he can get! If you could give us a hand with vet bills or buying a snuffle mat, please message me. I will be updating about his progress!
