Everyone is invited to take the Pages and Pumpkins Fall Learning Challenge from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31!
Participating is simple:

This fall at Adults Create, we're celebrating the Auburn Common Book: "The Music of Bees" by Eileen Garvin! 🐝 Let's rediscover uses of beeswax and learn how to incorporate this natural resource into our daily beauty routines by making a body lotion together.
For your convenience, two dates are offered for our popular Adults Create classes (ages 18+):

The Auburn Public Library Foundation contributed funds to help cover the costs of supplies, equipment and refreshments for Adults Create!. The APLF, formerly known as the Friends of the Auburn Public Library, is a local nonprofit group that promotes and supports the Auburn Public Library.

📣Shout out to our wonderful Teen Advisory Board members who painted a mural on the temporary wall hiding the restroom renovation construction occurring this summer! They themed it to our "Adventure Begins at the Library" Summer Learning Challenge, creating a fun, fairy tale welcome to the Library. 🐉🏰
Renovations are wrapping up in the main building before moving to the youth building.

Local Authors in the Library featuring Amelia Wood

Wood is a young adult author attending Auburn University majoring in English-Creative Writing. Wood’s debut novel “The Dragon Heir” was published in 2022, and her second novel in the Dragon Heir series “The Phoenix Traitor” is set to be published in fall of 2024.

The City of Auburn is excited to announce, “Food Trucks for United Way,” a delicious way to support the United Way of Lee County. This community-focused initiative will bring a variety of food trucks to different City of Auburn locations throughout the month of August.
From Monday, August 5th through Thursday, August 22nd, food trucks will be stationed at various City of Auburn departments and facilities. A rotating schedule of participating food trucks will offer a diverse menu of culinary delights to satisfy every palate.
To make this event even more impactful, each food truck will generously donate 10% of their daily proceeds to the United Way of Lee County. This partnership will help support vital programs and services that benefit our community. The food truck schedule is as follows:
• Monday, August 5th from 11am-1pm: Las Latinas Kitchen – Public Safety/Development Services
• Tuesday, August 6th from 9am-6pm: P&B Rockin’ Teas – Parks and Recreation Campus
• Thursday, August 8th from 11am-1pm: Butcher Paper BBQ – Boykin Community Center

Did you know the Library added new search kiosks? Powered by a tablet and mounted on a stand, these freestanding kiosks make searching for the next great read more accessible for more patrons. The patron pictured here said, "Auburn Public Library gets it! This library is the rainbow in the cloud."
The library public restrooms are also getting accessibility updates. Renovations are expected to be completed mid-fall.

This week, Auburn Public Safety and the Auburn Public Library are teaming up to collect school supplies for the Auburn Housing Authority! Donate newly purchased school supplies at either locations now through July 30.
We are in need of 3-ring binders, black and blue pens, pocket folders, clorox wipes, notebook paper and other common school supplies! If you feel led to donate, simply place the items in the donation bin in the lobby!
