We are so proud of our partner, Worldreader who we work with around the work to bring literacy tools to underserved children.
On International Literacy Day, the Library of Congress announced that Worldreader won the 2023 Literacy Award in recognition of the work in getting children to read. Great work, Worldreader - so glad that we get to partner together!
At World Vision USA, we love our longtime NBA star and partner, Jamal Crawford and all that he does for his community in South Seattle. Every year, we partner with Jamal to make sure kiddos have the school supplies and essentials they need to be successful. Check out the fun video!
Thanks, Jamal!

World Vision USA always has a great time hosting Church for their Pop Up Tour around the U.S.! This past Saturday, World Vision hosted them at our Fife, Washington Storehouse where Elevation Church volunteers helped fill 600 backpacks, assemble 288 hygiene kits, and sort 750 school technological devices. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules in helping us serve the most vulnerable! We couldn't do this work without volunteers like you :)

Today in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week staff from World Vision USA's Hartford Storehouse visited several of our Teacher Resource Center schools in greater Harford, Connecticut. We brought gifts to all the teachers at Pulaski Middle School in New Britain and Dr. Franklin H. Mayberry School in East Hartford.
We are blessed to be able to serve these dedicated professionals and we wanted to show them how much we care. World Vision has been serving schools with vulnerable children in the greater Hartford area now for 7 years. Thank you for caring and shaping the minds of all the young students!
We closed out March in preparation for Easter with a large surge of volunteer efforts to empower those in need. At the Pittsburgh warehouse, we had almost 900 volunteers coming from all over! Some of our friends, partners, and volunteers from Light of Life Rescue Mission helped us prepare supplies as part of these efforts! We couldn't wouldn't be able to serve far and wide without volunteers like you.

In closing out February, we had an extraordinary group who assisted us in our largest Saturday event in the last few years, Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite Hockey Girls Teams joined us here at Vision USA's Sewickley Warehouse to volunteer! Check out the amazing article for more information!

World Vision USA is grateful for volunteers like those from Life Christian Academy in Tacoma, Washington. We wouldn't be able to have as deep a level of impact without your help to build our Classroom Wellbeing Kits. The kits built are filled with sensory items which will be distributed around the country to classrooms where students are dealing with trauma and having trouble staying focused in class. Thanks again for your time, energy, and collaborative spirit that you brought to our Storehouse in Fife, WA!
World Vision USA is honored to serve families like Julia, Igor, and Vladylav who escaped the war in Ukraine as refugees in the U.S. Through our Storehouse in Fife, Washington and its partnership with Tacoma Community House, we were able to provide the family with some home furnishings including these pots and pans to cook comfort food that reminds them of home including Ukrainian borsch! What a blessing it is to be a part of helping bring a piece of home and familiarity to a family who's lives have been uprooted.
For the month of January at our Sewickley Storehouse, we had a lot of wonderful groups here. One that stands out is NorthBridge Community Church! They came from just out of the City of Pittsburgh to assist us on a cold Saturday Morning, but it was quickly warmed with the kindness of the hearts of the congregation. The NorthBridge group totaled 92 volunteers and nearly completed an entire order of donated shoes in three hours! We continue to be blessed by smaller groups that attend from their congregation and even have one of their students planning her American Heritage Girl project with us!
Thank you to our fantastic volunteers from the Puyallup Food Bank who helped put together our Classroom Wellbeing Kits. These kits will be sent across the country to be used in classrooms to help children better self-regulate their energy and emotions. These volunteers also helped us unload incoming trucks and much more. We couldn't do this work without you and your spirit is a part of the culture here at World Vision USA!
Education offers children a ladder out of poverty and a path to a promising future but about 244 million children and adolescents around the world are out of school; 617 million children and adolescents cannot read and do basic math; less than 40% of girls in sub-Saharan Africa complete lower secondary school and some four million children and youth refugees are out of school. Their right to education is being violated and it is unacceptable. In the United States, World Vision USA has served vulnerable children and youth by focusing on increasing academic success and parental engagement and by providing needed resources to under-served teachers and schools. We believe that when we work collaboratively with our partners in a holistic approach to education, community transformation will follow and the lives and well-being of children will improve.
World Vision USA is proud to partner with longtime ambassador and friend, Jamal Crawford. On Christmas eve, we distributed over 100 toys to kiddos around the greater Seattle area to make sure they had gifts to open and celebrate with. Thank you Jamal and all the volunteers that made this happen!
Please continue to lift up in prayer all those in Kentucky who are rebuilding their lives due to the devastation of the tornadoes that ripped through. After a year, we're proud to still be working with church partners on the ground to help rebuild homes for families. We love you, Kentucky!
On the one-year anniversary of the Mayfield, KY tornado, World Vision USA's partners His House Ministries and The Hope Initiative were able to give keys to new homes built to three families that lost their homes to the tornado. World Vision was able to supply building materials to help with our partners rebuilding hope to their community.
World Vision USA is STILL excited about our backpack giveaway at White Center Heights Elementary this week. Special guests included 2 baby goats and a lamb to display a sample of the gifts available for purchase in our World Vision Gift Catalog. We’re blessed to be a blessing this Christmas and it shows in our smiles. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who made this possible!
Thank you Demetrius from Greater Destiny Kingdom Life Congregation for visiting our Fife, Washington Storehouse! All the way from the greater Houston area, he volunteered his time to help with our ongoing operations that serve thousands in the Pacific Northwest. We love volunteers like the wonderful folks from Baxter International Inc. who helped build many World Vision USA Hygiene Kits. Without volunteers, we wouldn't be able to serve all the vulnerable communities in the U.S. and our offices in 100 countries around the world! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to give back and make an impact alongside us...all with a giving spirit and beautiful smiles :)
