As the 4th of July draws near, patriotic colors are more noticeably widespread. It's no exception in our community. Joyce and the residents were hard at work putting up red, white and blue decorations everywhere in our building.

How about you guys? Are you excited for July 4th?

Saxophonist Andrii and the ukulele and banjo players of Gold Country Strummers brought the house down this week! They attracted an endless stream of residents for their music. We were especially entertained as they played unforgettable and fun tunes, making us feel nostalgic.

We hope you get the chance to see them perform!

We present to you two very different artistic expressions! Suzanne, Joyce, and Brenda painted a loose representation of a calming moonlit field. On the one hand, Judy, Donna, Linda, and Mary Lue married the abstract styles of artists Piet Mondrian and Jackson Po***ck; they used marble coated in black acrylic to drive the shapes in their pieces. Our resident artists are flexible with their creativity!

Our seniors may not be in high school, but they're still in the mood for senior portraits. They dressed their best and put on their most charming expressions for the camera. Even Pat's dog, Moki, joined her shoot!

Maintenance director Micah has been getting a bit of help from Tom, Judy, and Linda in keeping our Clare Bridge section presentable! Tom assisted with putting plastic guards on walls while Judy and Linda touched up the handrails with paint. There are always plenty of things to keep us busy here!

With big smiles on their faces, Alice and Sharon served fruit salad that they made earlier in the day. They whipped up more than enough for their very hangry friends—that is, happy and hungry! It was a great way to close a breezy afternoon.

We're always open to new games! On Sunday, Nippy, Sue, Wanda, Alice, Brenda and Lainey were up for learning the card game Five Crowns with Kelly. We're not sure who won, but everyone got a kick out of making mistakes!

Any suggestions on what other games we should try out?

One could say we took to the skies and beyond with our latest excursion to the Aerospace Museum of California.

Ben, Tom, Mary Lue and George were particularly in awe of the engines that power many aircraft. A good part of the current exhibit engaged us to be hands-on, and that was just what Judy and Carolee did. Judy even pretended to be exhausted as she pedaled with her hands with one contraption.

We wish we could have stayed longer!

Our local Soroptimist group just spread joy to our community, and we're so grateful to them!

They gifted slippers and about 60 potted succulents for our residents to enjoy. Judy and Donna especially love the slippers with the rubber soles, as they provide lots of comfort. Meanwhile, other residents found the succulents add life to their apartment's decor.

We appreciate the never-ending kindness that comes our way!

One of the places we recommend visiting would be the Horton Iris Garden in Loomis. We recently had a lovely picnic there. We definitely loved strolling the lush grounds because every part was picture perfect. Mrs. Horton was also very hospitable, extending knowledge to the ever-curious and friendly Donna and our driver Linda.

Please check out the garden before it closes shop for the season at the end of May!

Here is the second set of photos from our Mother's Day weekend. Singer Chris Pucci performed songs from Les Miserables to a mesmerized crowd, and more families came by to spend time with their wonderful moms! May next year's Mother's Day be just as fulfilling!
