Mar Mel Ru and Ducky
Marvin and Melvin (MarMel) were left in a box near the shelter early 2020. Rudy came to us early March 2020. It works well so they are now MarMelRu.
Ducky has been at the shelter since late April 2018 is in EVERYONE’s business and part of the group.

Melvin (Mel) has returned to his seasonal spot. The dryers keep him warm when the temps get cool.
These adorable boys were almost completely vetted when admitted to our shelter Saturday. We just added a microchip and FELV vaccination. Shortly after they were adopted together. In and out in less than two hours. Their names are Prince Ali and Charlie.
Chris Brown from Unimaginable Creations, LLC, has designed and fabricated these CSRA HS garden gnomes. We have some at the shelter now, and taking orders for more. They are $25/ea. Cat or Dog version available.
These two older cats were adopted this afternoon. Thankful for people not just interested in kittens, they always grow up to be older cats too.
These Fort Gordon soldiers volunteered ALL day Saturday at the shelter and power washed all 3 cat rooms! Not an easy task. Thank you. You’ll also see Vanilla Bean and Marvin got in on the photo op. Lol

Full Caturday of great weather, outdoor experience for the cats and Ducky, a cat picnic and fall dress up.
Mitch and Felix were pre-adopted today to a gentleman in the Canadian Air Force. They will go home together as soon as they are neutered. Yeah!
We had two visitors Saturday for Caterday. A green garter snake and a green tree frog.
Friday night adoption, then Caturday.
Didn’t post any Caturday pics last weekend. Rudy was feeling under the weather and since Augusta barely has an emergency vet he went to CVETS Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty. They took great care of Rudy and now he’s back with his friends and eating much better. We have a new plan to manage his heart and kidney disease.
Another quality lazy Sunday.
Rudy and PBF making it clear THEY own the dog yard.
Just another Caturday.
Sunday/funday - no Rudy in the pictures, he was busy in the dog yards spitting in water buckets and who knows what else.
Caturday. Managed a cat adoption with all the lazy Saturday antics of Fern and Tulip along with the excitement of donations from Denver’s adopters. Rudy was especially please with another catnip banana. He and Melvin enjoyed their new raised cat bowls too. Denver is a young adult, the first of many cats and kittens rescued from the old Greenjackets stadium recently.
Little Fern having a great time with a newly donated toy.
The FIV kittens have their own dogs now. Otherwise same lazy Caturday.
Too many people dumping pets, but this was an odd finding. Sat am, get to the shelter and one of the employees had already brought in donations left at the gate. We see a large box, opened, no sign it was ever secured, paper on the bottom, a small opened bag of cat food toys and a cat collar. No cat(s)!
After showing a mother and daughter kittens I walked them out the front gate and as I turn and walk back in I hear a small meow. I first think it’s one of our house cats, Melvin. Looking for where the meow is coming from I find the kitten from the box. Look at the accompanying pictures.
She’s calm and sweet. Loves to be held. We’ll get her vetted and ready for adoption.
Ducky in Silvertone, Mono, Dramatic Warm and Vidid Warm.
A Hyde and eek for the kittens in the catio. In the next to the last photo Hideki inspects for structural integrity.
Rudy in 4 exposures, Silvertone, Noir, Vivid Cool and Dramatic Cool.
Rudy wants to remind everyone to stay hydrated.
Another lazy Caturday in the books.
Melvin sees the donations and decided to help himself.
Lots of new kittens at the shelter, most like to talk a lot.
Nothing like the sound of crickets while rolling in the grass on a nature hike.
