A person from "Georgia power" called my mother at her business and told her they sent an orange letter stating an internal update was being done and that all payments last month and this month would be cancelled so therefore she is past due. I personally called him to find out what was going on because all payments are drafted, he said they are sending refunds out of the the last two payments but they were unable to process them. He needed a cash or money order Payment today to keep the power on. He gave me the address of 3204 peach orchard road to make the payment.(which is a walgreens) He told me when you get there get a prepaid visa card, pay the $498.05 and call me with the 16 digit number on the back and we will not cut off power. I felt it was odd so I called Georgia Power and they said they were definately not them. My mom almost gave her credit card number. Thank God she didnt.
The number that called me was 404-462-1062 extra 227 and his name is "Jason fields", floor manager. I am so livid because they almost got away with it. please everyone validate when people are trying to get your card number over the phone or cash. # livid
