Today was a great Sunday!

Our worship was powerful, and the message from our "Imperfect Heroes" series was a reminder of how God honors humility and repentance. We saw that delayed obedience is still disobedience and that God makes the impossible possible. Any obstacle to following Him often stems from a lack of faith.

We also rejoiced as one person took the step of obedience through baptism. We’re excited for what’s next week!

Dr. Jackie Perkins’ influence as a pastor was far reaching. He served 25 of his 35+ years in ministry at Dayspring Church, in Augusta, GA, and was the pastor and friend to several families who now make up Hope Church Augusta, after our merge with Dayspring in 2019. Pastor Jackie had a passion for discipleship, was a great Bible teacher, and loved to have fun! Jackie went home to be with Jesus last night. We are sad for such a great earthly loss, but celebrate Jackie is healed and with his savior in heaven. Please pray for his wife, Leanne, their children: Todd, Ethan, and Erika along with their spouses and his grandchildren, as well as all who knew and loved him.

We continued our "Imperfect Heroes" series through the book of Judges and explored how pride often keeps us from surrendering our weaknesses to God, out of fear of failure. We learned that God offers salvation through what might seem weak and He values our availability more than our ability.

It was great being with our Hope Church family.

Today in our Imperfect Heroes series, we explored Judges 2 and saw how even small sins can lead to great destruction. Sin may offer short-term pleasure but results in long-term pain.

We're tasked with making disciples, baptizing, and teaching, just as the early disciples did. Gathering together isn't optional—it's who we are.

As parents, it's our duty to teach our kids to follow Jesus and trust God, not to replace God for them. Spiritual training must be a priority, supported by our community.

It was a great Sunday!

Today, we will take Communion and remember the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf. Take a moment to pray and ask God to reveal any sin in your life, repent, and prepare your heart for communion. Join us at 10:30 at Hope Church.

Today, we had a fantastic Back to School Bash for students and parents! We welcomed our new 6th graders into the student ministry and enjoyed a day filled with delicious food and fun at the lake. Thanks to everyone who joined us for a memorable start to the school year!

Last Saturday we had another great quarterly Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast with guest, Sam Smith, Men’s Director at Chosen. Sam taught the men that God has a plan for each of their lives and the Bible provides specific disciplines to help them be the godly man God saved them to be. Men, make plans to be at the next gathering!

What a great Sunday we had!

We kicked off our Imperfect Heroes series with a deep dive into the Book of Judges. We explored how faith-driven leadership and discipleship are crucial, and learned about the serious consequences of disobedience and the blessings of obedience. These imperfect heroes were used by God to temporarily deliver His people, but they ultimately point us to the true and ultimate hero, Jesus.
