It's been a little over a month since the release of Peg-Leg Killer Jonez and The Pitchfork Pine and I've gotten tons of great feedback. The album has been streamed nearly 400 times via Spotify and the two videos that have been released alongside have gotten nearly 1300 views combined. I know those numbers aren't staggering but it means some of you are digging in. In all the craziness surrounding the release I never got around to properly thanking the man who helped bring this thing to life and put it on wax, Steve Warrenfeltz. Steve and I have been friends for 20+ years and in all that time I have seen his generosity first hand. His constant efforts to bolster the local music scene is unparalleled and I know that I would not be who I am with him and his store, Kiss The Sky. If you haven't yet grabbed a copy of the album, please help me thank him by heading down there and purchasing a copy through his store. And while you're at it, go digging through his bins for some other gems from the local scene and the world of popular music.

Last week I took part in Jenny Bienemann's Haiku Milieu. Myself and 19 other Chicagoland songwriters were given the task of writing a brand new song based on a haiku from Jenny. I chose this one:
"Stars between the clouds
Moonlight on trembling water
The touch of your hand"
I then jumped on stage with 4 great musicians (John Abbey, Gerald Dowd, Ethan Adelsman and Matthew Pittman) and we played the song... unrehearsed. I had no idea what direction it would take but these wizards conjured up something beautiful. Grateful to Eric Schelkopf for capturing this. I hope you enjoy

Things on the horizon:
This Friday I'm returning to Grainology Batavia at 7pm. A great new spot in the downtown featuring great beer and spirits.
Then Saturday I'll be at D and G Brewing for my monthly spot at 6pm. Word on the street is they've added a bit of a stage over there. Love hanging and playing at this little spot in St. Charles.
And of course, the release party for Peg-Leg Killer Jonez and The Pitchfork Pine is just around the corner. 4/20 at The Law Office Pub & Music Hall in Yorkville. This is one of my favorite stages in the valley and has been a great supporter of both my music and my art which is currently adorning the walls. Dave Ramont will kick things off at 8pm followed by a performance of the album with The Noah Gabriel Band with special guest Chad Watson! $15 at the door.
A couple things:
First, this Saturday I'm returning to Sturdy Shelter Brewing for a solo spot at 7pm!
Second, I'm getting ready to release my 14th studio album, Peg-Leg Killer Jonez and The Pitchfork Pine on April 20th. It's a send up to the roots of blues music that I'm really excited about! That morning I'll be joined by Chad Watson for an acoustic performance at Kiss The Sky at 8:30am. Then I will head to The Law Office Pub & Music Hall for a full band performance at 8pm. I'll be joined by NGB (Gary Belniak, Michael Addyman, Andrew Szymanski), Chad and our good friend Dave Ramont who will open the night.
Been slowly getting all of my albums up in Bandcamp. This morning I uploaded "Easy", the second Noah's Arcade album.
A little about the album:
We set out to spend a weekend in Rockford at Miles Neilsen's studio, a little farmhouse just out of town. The idea of spending 3 days and nights in a studio was pretty exciting but as with many things, reality is much different. We ended up hanging with a careless engineer who showed up late each morning and was itching to leave each night, a moldy coffee machine and a couple friends on a funky couch. This album, while sonically left us wanting, was full of great tunes and performances by Justin O'Connell, Chad Watson and myself. The music itself was heavily inspired by the 90's alt rock that we grew up with and is still some of my favorite stuff to play live. If you got time this Sunday, give it a listen and let me know if you have a favorite track.
Easy, by Noah's Arcade 9 track album
This Saturday I'll be back at Art History Brewing in Geneva alongside the pizza guru, Chuck's Wood Fired Pizza. Come on out at 4pm and kick off your evening with some tunes, brews and pizza!
Last night's return to The House Pub was great! Thanks NGB (Gary Belniak, Michael Addyman, Andrew Szymanski),Stephen J. Erd, the house pub crew and everyone who came out to hang with us!!
After reading a bunch of the reviews on the Dark Side Of The Moon (Redux) I know I'm probably in the minority but I really dig this record. To me the beauty of a great song is the the fact that it can be produced in many different fashions and still hold its weight. Between this, Dub Side Of The Moon and the original there are plenty of examples of how great not only the songs are but the album as a whole is. I know it's not for everyone but I think it's worth a listen.
