A creative shapeshifter, Rachel has never been shy about wearing a multitude of different hats. With a degree in Interior Design, this self-professed maker and organizational wizard has tackled every type of interior endeavor ranging from restaurant buildouts to residential home staging; yet her scope doesn't end there. In her new role as Vara's Design Generalist, Rachel aims to evolve again, redefining what it means to "live local" by giving her hometown new creative life and character. When she's not busy staying busy, you can find this versatile virtuoso crafting cocktails for her private bartending business, sweating it out in her sauna, or roller-skating around town.

Beneath Cera's calm exterior beats the heart of a true creative connector with the ability to "crack open" spaces letting new light and life in. Funny enough, the source for this Designer's interior inspiration stems from her time spent outside on the trails and in her garden. For this outdoor enthusiast, open spaces, environmental ingenuities, and sensory experiences are the key to great design. And it was this talent for unearthing unique design directions that first brought her to VARA. When she's not trekking, weeding, or collaborating, Cera's got Lord Huron on full blast at her sweet suburban sprawl.

To have a functional office doesn't mean there has to be a compromised aesthetic.

Close friend and consultant, we have worked with for the past ten years; he is a local artist with a German engineer's brain. Always the man with the plan, from moving marble to making murals, he has a creative problem-solving solution for our on-site installations.

At the importance of bringing the back of the house to center stage was a priority. Preparing food is an art and performance, it is a basic need that has evolved into anything but basic!

Anne’s life experience is the difference between dorm room macrame and a hand-knotted Persian - authentic, varied, and priceless. Part Kerouac and Part Goodall, her’s is a CV that was built on the road navigating different cultures and communities. From the markets of Mexico to remote landscapes of Iceland - she quickly honed her ability to organize, translate, and collaborate. And yet it was at home with VARA that Anne officially became a Logistical Badass, aka the Design Studio Director. When she’s not crushing it for her clients, this animal lover is reading, sewing, or supporting our furry friends.
