This week’s prompt was to make a food wreath, so I drew this festive holiday charcuterie board…I also made a dessert version I will post later this week. I want to make this spread now IRL for my holiday. Didn’t really realize wreath-shaped charcuterie was a thing until this prompt! YUM!

They grow up so fast! That’s why I think family photos are so important to us— something to remind us of all the ways our girls were (silliness, looks, height, style, hairstyle, mannerisms and now tween angst is a new one) and cherish the stages. I also love comparing this year’s to last year’s!

Love our fall family photos we did with at the barn in our new neighborhood!
I was able to make 4 floral/moss inserts for this window to add a little whimsy and pop of color/texture behind us.
In front, you get a line up of my favorite people: my fiery mini me hiding her casted broken arm, our toothless wonder with her hair that’s hard to tame after she gave herself a haircut a few months ago, our angst-filled tween rocking some chunky heels and begging to leave and get Taco Bell and my handsome, hilarious hubby just along for the obligatory ride. It’s perfectly us and I love it.

One of my clients came up with this one after I posted an IG story asking for alliteration food & flower ideas. I love orchids so this one was a fun one! Phaleanopsis orchids and some clementine oranges 🍊 on a light pink glass cake stand.

Beauty and the Beast themed wedding shower today with Flour & Flowers by MK at The Herrington Inn & Spa Geneva, IL with balloon backdrop, backdrop rentals and covers, column, foliage and red rose arrangement by us, cake and sweets by Flour & Flowers by MK and centerpieces and linens provided by the sister of the bride.

This “tea and tiger lily” prompt has been my favorite to draw so far!

Next up: Apples and Amaryllis! Went with Pizzazz apples and peachy salmon amaryllis because most people will do red 😂. (There are some advantages to being a seasoned florist for these prompts - I know all the flowers!) is over halfway done and I’m loving it. Next prompt is tea and tiger lilies.

This one might be the most detailed one I’ve done yet. 3 sunflowers—2 of which were variegated varieties and therefore more complicated, a blue glass cake stand and a bowl of yummy from
since it is my fav!

Today was “artichokes and asters” so I did Matsumoto asters with some variegated artichokes on a jadeite cake stand. Next up is “wine and wisteria” so that should make for an interesting composition. I am most looking forward to “pomegranates & poppies” and “pumpkin & pansies” which are later this month. By the end of the month, I should have 11 little cake stands filled with food + flowers. :)

Coffee and Chrysanthemums today for prompts.
As many of my friends know, I hate mums and I also don’t drink coffee so I found this one to be more challenging than the previous two! I am trying to create a series of cohesive pieces with these and I am loving having three components to draw (flower, food, and cake stand). The next prompt is artichokes and asters. That one is fun because I used to use purple artichokes (they actually come on long stems from the wholesaler) in fall floral arrangements so that is a food that also is an ornamental cut “flower” too. Excited to see what I come up with for that one.

Mushrooms and Marigolds today with and . Love these prompts! I miss flowers and I miss illustrating so these are so fun!
