URGENT! Time-driven: GEORGIANS, Please email [email protected] and tell the Board you do NOT support adoption of the Grubbs and Alexander proposals. The Grubbs and Alexander proposals both add burdensome and unnecessary requirements on counties before elections can be certified. These rules are being pushed by an organized group of election deniers and could create avenues for bad actors to disrupt the election process, severely undermining Georgia's ability to certify election results. The DEADLINE to submit comments is NOON SUNDAY, August 18th, so please email today! https://apnews.com/article/georgia-elections-voting-hand-count-raffensperger-730c77c8a14954308c95474022b39d74

Love the CAC! Always something fun and inspiring going on. To me this place is sacred ground! Could be because it was blessed by the minister who owned it and gave it to his daughter when she got married to build their house on long long ago.

For right now, Just Breathe. Breathe in God’s love and the beauty of his creations. Breathe out the fear, anger and frustrations of yesterday. Prayers for all those injured and killed at the rally. Violence is never a good answer.

I painted 3. Support the arts and this awesome Arts Council by painting or buying. Only $20.00 each to purchase a painting!

Help to support the arts in Douglasville by picking up a 6x6 inch tiny canvas, painting it to match your miniature vision, and then returning it to us so that we can offer it as part of our annual tiny gallery fundraising exhibit in July and August.

All types of pieces: painted, sculpted, drawn, acrylic, etc. are welcome. As long as it fits on the 6x6 canvas, it's fine.

Please consider supporting us with your talent. Get directions to where you can pick up your canvas: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GDyU78awCFgNg8J86

..And after having celebrated this event for 31 years, many of them can do it in their sleep, even with a brand new venue.

Huge thanks to them!

It's time to reveal the very last food vendor for this year's Taste of Douglasville.

Alumni Cookie Dough ( ) is coming with their insanely decadent creations. I've heard it's totally acceptable at a food festival to obtain the majority of your daily calories from cookie dough.

Now bear in mind, it's just a coincidence that something so enticing is the last promotion; just a coincidence that we're teasing cookie dough two days before the giant food festival on May 18th!

We can't wait to see you there.

05/17/2024

Great food and crafts! May be a few showers but that want stop the fun. Amazingly for years, all showers went around Douglasville.

Taste of Douglasville is coming up this Saturday the 18th at the Douglasville Town Green. This is the biggest party of the year in Douglasville. Last year over 12,000 people came. So, we wanted to brief you with a little information so you'll know what to expect.

This is the first year Taste of Douglasville will be hosted at the Douglasville Town Green. Vendors will be inside and outside of the amphitheater area, with food trucks along the road, and food vendors in a food court area near the tower.

There will be street closures around the amphitheater so plan to park and walk or take a shuttle from 8800 Dorris Rd.

Festival admission is free. You can enjoy the music and activities at no charge. Food tickets cost $1 a piece, and food items cost between 1 and 5 tickets each. non-food vendor products will be sold via the seller's own payment procedures.

This is a rain-or-shine event. So, even if it's drizzling, we will be there. Grab your umbrella and wait out the shower with us.

Our Story

Bill and I opened The Red Cockerill Gallery in 1975. Two kids with barely a nickel but lots of dreams. We dedicated the Gallery to the glory of God. It was a labor of love and through hard work we managed to prosper through recessions and wars.

Bill creates unique pottery, sculptures and frames. I paint portraits and landscapes, teach art and frame. Our daughter, Emily Cockerill Lightner, grew up within these walls. She was with us while we exhibited our art in shows across the nation from the time she was 3 weeks old. After graduating from JSU she became the manager of the Gallery and brought new life and ideas into it. We are so proud that Emily is now the Interim Executive Director of the Cultural Arts Council of Douglas County and an amazing photographer. She and her husband Andrew Lightner, a musician and Assistant Band Director of Point University, had 2 of the most precious grandchildren who often create their own masterpieces.

It is our loyal customers, their children, and grandchildren who have kept us here for so long. We are so blessed!
