How to improve vO2 max?

If you had asked us a year ago we would have said “train at maximal aerobic capacity for a minimum of 20 minutes, at least 1 time per week”.

But new science has emerged that shows there may be more than one way to improve vO2 max depending on age, goals, and training history.

In order to increase exercise endurance, we need to improve the bodies ability to utilize oxygen and deliver nutrients to the muscle.

This means training the mitochondria of our cells to function better under stress.

Focusing on the muscles that push things away is one of the best ways to decrease likelihood of injury, young or old.

Another classic exercise, the parallel bar dips. This is one that should be performed as much as possible.

Tricep focused pushing movements such as dips, are heavily underrated in, athletic training, performance training, and longevity training.

Throughout much of history scholars, philosophers, and preachers have tried to teach "the way" -- a blueprint (if you will) of how to live and act for a truly healthy and optimized life.

Yet, the reality of them modern day-to-day is we live inside our own minds, and we struggle to get out of our own way.

And when we do we're often met with a cold and distant world, not suitable for the pleasures o enjoyment. And so what do we do? We retract back into bad habits and false beliefs.

It is through this avoidance the we foster a routine of misfortune. A past littered with "I wish I had" and "what if I'd tried harder", with a reality of "ill do it tomorrow"s.
