Mine is the COWBELL!!!!!!

I wanted to take a minute to share about our crazy, wonderful life, this football season. 🏈

While I am a stadium manager at the Alamodome in San Antonio, with events throughout the week including college football on Saturdays, my husband is a football coach northwest of Austin, 2 hours away. We have been long distance for about 10 years; TX, LA, NY, MS, PA, luckily in the same state for a while now, and “live” in Austin. I commute 3 days a week, and, with traffic, it can take me up to 4 hours to get to work.

SO, every fall Friday 🍁for the past 5 years, I have made the trek up I35, from San Antonio to Austin/away city, to see his team’s game. Saturday mornings, I head back to San Antonio for UTSA🏈, and post-game I turn right back around and come home. Every December, I think… I don’t know how I’m going to make it through another season😩… and then I get 8 months without football and miss it!🤣

My Coach has always supported the pursuit of my dreams and career, even when other high school and college coaches told him things like, “If she won’t move, she doesn’t have what it takes to be a coach’s wife.” “The rest of our wives moved and work at this restaurant or teach.” “If she loved you she’d take whatever she can get here.” Our industry requires a LOT of energy and time. I am so grateful that my heart and hard work has never taken a backseat to my partner’s and my employer has allowed me to put family first.💖

I am blessed that my husband, GM, and my colleagues support me in a flexible way to be able to have this hectic, crazy “balance.” Everyone’s balance is different, and for me… I LIVE for those Friday Night Lights.🏈🏟
