We are excited to welcome Sara Winter to the Satya team. She will be offering a Slow Flow class every Tuesday at 4:30pm.

Sara became a yoga teacher in 2016 and has taught in yoga studios, community centers and healthcare facilities. Driven by a desire to expand her expertise and make yoga accessible to all, she completed a 1,000-hour yoga therapy certification at Practice School of Yoga Therapy in 2023. Sara is dedicated to meet individuals where they are on their journey, share the transformative tools of yoga, such as movement, breathwork, and meditation to foster space for profound healing and growth. Her classes offer space for movement exploration – encouraging students to attune to their body/mind and discover what feels best for them.

Starting this week, you now have two opportunities to join Hollie Meador for her amazingly nourishing class, Yin Reset. Ya'll asked for a second class, and we listened! Yin practices are an excellent balance to typical yang asana classes. Cold muscles, and longer holds in postures, allows students to work into subtle areas of the fascia and connective tissues throughout the body. These classes are meant to create focus, sacred stillness, and meditative space to connect deeply while finding gentle release in both the body and the mind. You can attend either in-person or from the comfort of your home online, Mondays and Thursday at 6pm!

Amrita offers a unique blend of yoga that combines multiple paths of Yoga/meditation and sacred dance, for healing and well being; a a discipline called NRITYOGA® - Yoga of Dance. She also specializes in Mudra Vigyan and Yogic philosophy, related to the healing arts of ancient India.

In late October, she will lead two offerings: Energetic Alchemy, and Healing Through Yoga Mudras. Each will explore more subtle aspects of yoga we don't often have the opportunity to spend time sinking into these concepts. Needless to say we are looking forward to it!

The autumn equinox is a special day that comes once a year when the earth squares off with the sun, making equal day and night. This day can be celebrated to embody the main qualities of the autumn equinox: balance and stability. Balance represents the equal parts of day and night. Stability represents the grounded connection to the earth that comes during a time when the earth is producing its last and biggest harvest of the year.

To honor the equinox, this workshop will begin with a blended moon and sun salutation movement sequence that will incorporate a variety of balancing postures. We will then steady the mind with balancing breathwork and explore the true self with a guided meditation. We will leave the workshop feeling deeply connected to ourselves and the earth, knowing our intended path and prepared to enter the new season.

Join Sandi for this meaningful offering, in-person only at Studio Satya.

What would it be like to free yourself from limitations and soar beyond your boundaries? What can you do each day to discover inner peace and serenity? The Untethered Soul offers simple yet profound answers to these questions.

Whether this is your first exploration of inner space, or you've devoted your life to the inward journey, this book will transform your relationship with yourself and the world around you. You'll discover what you can do to put an end to the habitual thoughts and emotions that limit your consciousness. By tapping into traditions of meditation and mindfulness, author and spiritual teacher Michael A. Singer shows how the development of consciousness can enable us all to dwell in the present moment and let go of painful thoughts and memories that keep us from achieving happiness and self-realization.

John's recent workshop was such a hit, he's moving up the body to focus on another point of connection.

Discover the middle body alignment for our personal structure, so that we experience freedom in standing asana. Feel a new “rightness” for standing poses. Thus we can allow the cues we hear during a yoga class to trigger us to remember our stability and strength.

This will be an interactive session, with time for questions and the ability to explore specific concerns and special topics (hamstring pulls, frozen sacroiliac joint, etc.).

Join him on September 7th, in-person at Studio Satya.

Prior yoga experience welcome but not required. While the experience will focus on educator wellbeing, resources about how to use practices from the workshop with students of all ages will be available.

Although inherently part of our essence, each season contains qualities that can get lost if we don't take time to slow down, reflect, listen, and integrate. Arriving at a state of deep listening, where we can contemplate the nature of what is swirling through the cosmos, oceans, and our own energy, can create and strengthen paths of clarity. When we slow down and nurture the light held deep within, there is potential for more authentic ease and harmony throughout all aspects of our lives.

We will review how this time of year was examined and translated in ancient times, look at current astrological movements of the stars, and weave it all into a yin practice meant to open further to personal information and insights held within, integrating it all into our cells. During this practice we will not look at individual birth charts, though having some knowledge of yours can be helpful. Those who register will be given resources to create their own, or the offer to have a copy printed prior to our meeting.

Our 9am, 10:30am, and 12pm are all set to go – with fresh AC to boot! Afternoon and evening classes are cancelled so you can enjoy evening, however you choose to spend it. Take good care & see y'all soon.

Coming together in a circle of community is something we highly value at Satya. The way yoga brings so many together, from countless backgrounds, beliefs, and daily lived experiences never ceases to amaze us. It's a great honor to hold space for so many seeking something meaningful on the mat to incorporate out in those varied worlds.

This unifying nature of the practice of yoga carries with it ideals of daily conduct, including seeking truth and the aim for all beings to be free of suffering. It is with this spirit that we are gathering together to have an open-minded and open-hearted discussion revolving around the struggle of the Palestinian people.

We will spend 3 sessions, 2 weeks apart from one another, to take in podcasts, documentaries, and other resources to inform our discussions. July 9th will incorporate the history of the area, giving context and foundation for the remaining gatherings. The second gathering will cover current events, and the third we will spend time discussing resources for action moving forward – including holding a vision for what we hope to to see happen.

These sessions are free to attend, either in-person or online. All registrants will receive an email with resources to prepare for our meetings together. Reach out with any questions you have between now & then.

Happy Solstice! As we launch into the summer season, we hope this time brings a sense of joy and playfulness, mirrored by times or restoration and reflection.

Through the end of June, escape the heat and grab one of our 10-Class Packs for just $144, good for in-person classes only, to be used within 6 months. This special will run through the end of June!

22/05/2024

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year with the least amount of darkness and the most daylight. It is the peak of the growing season. The sun appears to stand still in the sky, almost as if to pause and reflect on all that its power has produced.

To honor the summer solstice, this workshop will focus on celebrating the sun in its current state. We will begin by building some heat with sun salutations, followed by invigorating breathwork and mudra. We will then pause and reflect through relaxation and a guided meditation to observe within ourselves what has grown and changed during the season.

Join Sandi in-person, June 22nd, from 2-4:30pm to honor this peak time of light.
