Four weeks ago I did a thing- I broke up with my breast implants after 11 years. Breast implant illness is real and can affect anyone, even if you’re healthy!
Breast implants contain hidden toxins, heavy metals, endocrine disrupters and even carcinogens!
Of the 11 years I’ve had my saline implants I can say that I’ve felt symptoms for eight years!
Removing them was the best decision I’ve even made for myself. Within eight days post explant, approximately 75% of my symptoms disappeared.
Thanks to for bringing awareness of BII. If it wasn’t for her post on I wouldn’t have gone through the explant journey.
What’s your healing journey looking like in 2021?
My most recent pick of the garden 🪴 the red hot Chili Pepper 🌶! Growing your own food has its own advantages, the best part is that they pack so much more flavor than grocery bought produce. sundaybumday # #

The late summer season corresponds to the Spleen and Stomach, which represent the middle. Dietary suggestions for the late summer season include:
🍊Mildly sweet foods, yellow/golden foods, round foods
🌽 Millet, corn, carrots, cabbage, garbanzo beans, soybeans, squash, potatoes, string beans, yams, tofu, sweet potatoes, sweet rice, rice, amaranth, peas, chestnuts, filberts, apricots, cantaloupe.
🧂 Use minimum seasonings and mild taste to ensure proper assimilation. Avoid complicated flavors.
🥬🍎 Vegetable or fruit fast on the cusp of spring and summer brings one to the “center” during seasonal transitions.
On hot sunny days watermelon 🍉 is great for keeping your body cool, relieving summer heat. Some raw foods may be appropriate at this time as long as digestion isn’t impaired. What’s your favorite summer food?
Happy hump day y’all !
Do you suffer from 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬? If you live in Texas, allergies are one of the most common ailments that affects many Texans.
Did you know? Acupuncture can help alleviate symptoms of allergies by reducing the severity of your symptoms! Yes there's hope - regular acupuncture treatments and nutritional interventions can help reduce the severity AND frequency of allergy symptoms.
Are you ready to have more allergy-free days? Schedule your appointment (link in bio) and begin your journey to being allergy free!
The sour flavor corresponds to the spring season. The sour flavor has astringent, contracting and absorbing qualities, preventing abnormal leakage.
The sour flavor attunes to the spring months, however it should be used sparingly for the following conditions:
- Dampness, heaviness of the body/mind
- tendon injuries
- dry, nervous thin person
- stiff neck, back and muscles
- constipation
Consuming sour foods in excess can make all the above problems worse, so moderation is key!
Reasons why you should grow your own food:
- Homegrown produce has more flavor than grocery store bought food.
- It contains less pesticides and chemicals
- Gardening can be therapeutic and rewarding, reaping the benefits of your work.
- Saves money on grocery shopping.
- It's self sustainable.
It wasn't until we had the Texas winter storm that I realized how precious our produce is. When I walked around the store, the produce was the first thing to go off the shelves. I decided that this year I was going to grow my green thumb and try my hand at growing my own food.
What are you growing in your garden?
𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬:
- Watercress
- Asparagus
- Seedless cucumber
- Cilantro
- Spirulina, chlorella, barley grass juices
Heavy metals have no nutritional value for the human body and can cause major damage to the brain and kidneys. Mercury, cadmium, arsenic and aluminum are all considered heavy metals and offer no health benefit.
Incorporating these foods on a regular basis will ensure that we are removing toxins from our bodies efficiently. Heavy metals can be found in our foods such as fish/seafood, cooking on aluminum cookware or using aluminum in our cooking.
Replacing aluminum with parchment paper for cooking is one way to eliminate the use of aluminum in the kitchen. As we move into spring, we want to gently detox and rid our bodies of the heavy poisons that slowly kill us.
Another reason why I love growing my own veggies 🥬 is that they are full of flavors. Grocery produce has nothing on this! Can’t wait to try this kale 🥬 I’ve been growing in our backyard!
Experimenting with different flavors, I came across this surprisingly good purple papaya smoothie recipe.
Papaya has many benefits, it contains antioxidants, high in lycopene, vitamin c and papain, an enzyme which assists in the breakdown of proteins.
An added bonus is that it’s crushed seeds help to kill parasites 🦠, including hookworm, tapeworm and pinworms without any unwanted side effects.

Random fun fact: marigolds in your garden not only help with pollination but also assists with pest control. Another bonus is it’s beautiful yellow color. What’s your favorite flower?
Foods that stimulate the Liver according to Chinese Medicine:
- Watercress
- Onions
- Fennel
- Basil
- Turmeric
- Bay Leaf
- Mint
Why am I sharing these with you? The spring season corresponds to the liver, and its function is to course Qi throughout the body. When imbalances occur (𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘵, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘪𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘥𝘴, 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘧 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴/𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬, 𝘦𝘵𝘤.) the liver's energy can get stuck, creating a situation known as Liver Qi stagnation.
Signs and symptoms of Liver Qi Stagnation include impatience, frustration, stubbornness, impulsive behaviors, resentments, violence, edginess, arrogance, aggression, lumps or swellings in the neck, groin and sides of the body. Other symptoms include muscular pain, tendon issues, chronic indigestion, allergies, depression and moodiness.
Eating the aforementioned foods will help to stimulate the liver out of stagnancy and thus move Qi throughout the body to where it needs it the most. Everything in moderation!

It’s that time to do some spring cleaning!
I’m starting a modified juice cleanse to rid the body of impurities and stimulate the bowels. I will be doing a vegetable juice in the morning, steamed vegetables and tapering down my intake of meat. I’ll be updating my progress as I go along so stay tuned.
In the meantime here is a recipe for a post workout carrot juice (carrot, celery, parsley, apple). Enjoy!
My favorite part of spring? How the leaves begin to grow back. New growth, new beginnings and of course I get to spend time in the garden! What are you growing this season?
Healthy Snack Idea: Dates
I love these snacks because they taste just like a candy bar! I only have about 1-2 dates due to their sugar content, but overall a great snack substitute.
Recipe:
Bag full of dates
Almond butter
Store them in the freezer for later consumption. You can another raw but on the inside for a crunchy spin on this snack. Enjoy!

Focus on nutrient dense foods - Asparagus, Swiss chard, Carrots, Broccoli, Beets and Artichoke are ideal choices for detoxification. Most can be prepared steamed with water to preserve their nutrient composition.
For those who are frequently ill, short cleanses and fasts are more suitable. For those who feel heavy and congested with a strong constitution may be able to tolerate a longer cleanse. Keep your detox regimens short (5-7 days are suitable to start), to assess your tolerance. I will be undergoing a spring cleanse here soon, and I'll be sharing what I'm doing so stay tuned for the details!
𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 = 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬!
Did you know? Eating sprouts are also a spring food and provides many benefits.
Sprouts are a rich source of protein, folate, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous and vitamins C and K. The also contain a high level of amino acids which makes them a great source of plant protein.
Benefits include improving digestion, managing blood glucose, and improve heart health. One important thing to note is that sprouts may contain harmful bacteria if caution is not exercised. It's always important to wash your hands before handling any sprouts and they should be stored in the fridge. Avoid consuming any sprouts that have a strong odor, have a slimy appearance. Fresh is always best.

𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬
Vegetables eaten in the spring are mostly of the green variety, as the color green corresponds to the spring. Most foods of the green variety are bitter in flavor, and are best prepared steamed, boiled or cooked with a little water for a short period of time. Adding salt to your vegetables after cooking reduces the bitterness of vegetables.
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠:
- Artichoke, Asparagus, Beets, Beet greens
- Bok choy, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower
- Carrot, Celery, Chard
- Chickweed, Chicory, Chives, Cilantro
- Collard greens, Comfrey
- Dandelion Greens, Green garlic, onion
Cooking times will vary on the vegetable, with larger pieces taking more time to cook than smaller ones. Smaller pieces have a strengthening quality to them as opposed to larger pieces due to the amount in energy required to break them down in the gut.
