The 2nd Annual Prickly Pear Classic - A Wildflower Disc Golf Tour Event The 2nd Annual Prickly Pear Classic - A Wildflower Disc Golf Tour Event is a PDGA-sanctioned disc golf tournament in Austin, Texas beginning January 20, 2024 and hosted by Wildflower Disc Golf Tour.

It’s not a whole lot but it is a start - this past weekend we raised $78 for the DAWA fund. Thank you all for coming out to o the As One Beer Release and Disc Golf Tournament at Live Oak Brewing Company showing your support.

Here is one awesome lady helping to grow the sport. Annette Bowdre was one of the participants at our clinic a few years back where some of Austin ladies came down to Houston. Now she is spreading the word and giving back to the community. Way to go Annette!!?

Ladies League is Back!!! Beginning March 21st at Live Oak Brewery!
4:15 - 5:30 Flex

Tuesdays were the more popular date - so Tuesday it is!

$25 for the season (6 weeks) Best 3 of 6 weeks counted towards end of season finale.

$4 per player towards end of season trophies/party

$1 per player will go to Live Oak Brewery Course Fund (end of season)

$20 per player towards end of season payout (paying out top 40%

Mulligans available each night - $1 each, max 3 - CASH ONLY! We will use the mulligan money collected to draw a free entry into a Wildflower Disc Golf Tour event at the end of season. If we have enough for two entries, we will draw two names.

Ace Pot available each night - $2 (if not hit, will rollover) - CASH ONLY! If no ace hit all season, we will CTP at end of season party for Ace Pot.

Starting tomorrow, Put in Work Wednesdays moves to Zilker Park.

I love Circle C, I really do and wanted this to work, but unfortunately we weren't getting the numbers to break even for paying for the event to be sanctioned. We also had folks waiting an hour to get on a card and no one else showing up which i don't want to happen again.

I'm not sure if the same will be the case at Zilker but I'm willing to give it a try for these next few weeks. If we still have low attendance, we will consider other options (times, locations, date etc...)

Ace pot rolls over to Zilker! Now that pros and ams play the same boxes, the ace pot will be combined.

If you havent collected your payout, this is the week to do so! I'll be at Circle C from 3 to at least 4:30 with payout options to pick from possibly later. I'd like to $0 the payout or as close as possible. We still plan to keep running the Circle C flex start but want to run it in 4 week increments so that we can get all our ducks in a row, make changes if necessary etc...

Rachel Devereaux will be Assistant TD and will be at the course from 4:30 to the end for your questions although I still am available by phone or email after 4:30.

This is a list of events we will be either TDing or assisting with this coming year. This list does not include the HOTT Tour where Renae will be the TD for several of the events as well.

Some of these events we will be working with Mint to have an awesome selection of MINT discs and merch available and/or part of your players pack. Some will even give you points towards the HOTT Tour! More details to come soon but we wanted to get this calendar out before the New Year. It is likely that we will be adding more events to this list as well. 2022 is going to be an epic year!

Where - Zilker Park
When - Every Friday until the time change
Time - 6:00pm to 6:20pm sign ups, Draw 6:25pm
Entry - $10 cash - $6 towards payout, $3 towards Ace, $1 club fund (for lights or end of season party)
What- Random Draw Doubles

Ace pot start - $195 (must have made one week prior in order to qualify for 100% ace, otherwise you get 50%)

Did you see the new PDGA rules for 2022?

There were a few that caught my eye and I figured I'd share with you all.

1. Wording has been updated to the 30 second play rule that removes the need for there to be no distractions and instead focusing on safety and that the playing area is clear. This means if someone coughs in the middle of your putting routine or makes a noise, your 30 second time does not restart. Only if someone or something is in the way of the playing area. First time is warning, second time is a one stroke penalty.

2. A disc must come to rest supported by the tray or chains below the chain support. This means we no longer have to see the disc enter the target to make the call. If stuck on outside tray, disc is considered in.

3. Any PRO accepting cash must be a PDGA member for tracking purposes. If they do not have a PDGA number they are only eligible for trophy and the cash moves down to next eligible pdga member.

4. If you hit your own bag/cart you get the throw plus one penalty. And throw again from previous lie.

5. If ANY player in a group plays more than one throw on the wrong starting hole, everyone in the group receives two penalty throw after completing hole. If only one throw was thrown by one or more players, just one penalty stroke is added and players proceed to actual starting hole.

6. B- tier and above events you must be a CURRENT PDGA member!
