2023 marks the year of the Water Rabbit 🐇 which symbolizes prosperity, peace, and fortune. With this year’s unexpected winter storm, we were WILDLY fortunate to celebrate with you. 2023 is already proving to be a prosperous year. We hope the joy and excitement from our Festival follows you into the rest of 2023 ☀️

With the City of Austin still under Stage 5 Covid-19 risk-based guidelines, Chinatown Center has decided to cancel our Year of the Tiger Lunar New Year Celebration, which was originally scheduled for February 12-13, 2022.

The decision to cancel our celebration was based on our commitment to protecting our customers, our businesses, and our community. The emergence of the highly contagious Omicron variant led to a spike in Covid-19 infections across the US — as a result, Covid-19 impacted our ability to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Thank you for your understanding and your continued support. If opportunity allows, we hope to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year. As we enter the Year of the Tiger, we sincerely hope this year brings success and prosperity to our community. We look forward to celebrating with you in the near future, see you soon!
