The USA Military team continues their tour with a match against the Royal Air Force on Veteran’s Day and Remberance Day.

We would like to say thank you to all who have served and are currently serving our US Military! 🇺🇸

Getting his second start of the tour is Logan Legg at #11! Best of luck, Logan!!

We are beyond excited to watch these two tear it up for their countries today!

Logan Legg is starting at 15 for the USA Military and face the British Army at 1:45pm CST.

Zach Pangelinan is starting at 15 for Guam as they face PH VOLCANOES SELECT XV for the Magellan Cup!

We are proud to announce Christian Ostberg (CO) as our new forwards coach for the upcoming season

CO is a local who was born and raised in Round Rock and started his rugby journey at Stony Point High School. He later honed his skills at Life University, before embarking on his professional career.

That career has taken him around the globe, playing for clubs in Italy, England, Pro D2 in France, and the MLR. In addition, Christian has proudly represented the USA!!

Off the pitch, he is a dedicated husband and father to his wife Alex and daughter Margaux.

Christian brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight, and a desire to win to our team.

We regret to inform that our Halloween 10s tournament has been canceled this year. We will try again next year and we look forward to a great start of preseason starting tomorrow!

Training will begin tomorrow and continue every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at Burr Field!

Ahead of tonight’s AGM, we are thrilled to announce our new head coach- Kurt Morath!

Kurt has been with the Blacks for a few years as a player and assistant coach, and has been a critical difference maker on and off the pitch. Kurt’s drive for excellence made him an obvious choice in our search and we’re confident he will help take the club to new heights.

Prior to his time with us, Kurt enjoyed international success all over the world including Japan, England, and New Zealand. A major highlight was his participation in 3 world cups for Tonga.

Off the pitch, he is a dedicated father of 3 beautiful girls and husband to his wife Nicole.

As we approach a new season, we will be without the rock that stabilized us and brought us to all time levels at the club. Coach Tane Jericevich has stepped down to prioritize new challenges in life. Tane came to Austin as a player and ended as the head coach. Under his leadership, the Austin Blacks to 4 D1 national championships with 1 title and 4 D3 national championship victories.

While he’ll be missed on the pitch, he won’t be far! You’ll still see him participating in our youth program and cheering for the Blacks from the sidelines.

Please join us in congratulating Tane for his immense contribution and wishing him the best on the road ahead.

Next Tuesday, October 1, 2024! The Austin Blacks will be hosting our Annual General Meeting. This meeting is open to new and returning players who are interested in playing with our club upcoming season!

The meeting will be hosted in the clubhouse at 6:30pm and we will be providing dinner after touch rugby.

We look forward to another exciting season and continuing to build towards more success!

Come kick off the 2024-2025 season at Kung Fu Saloon (West 6th) on Friday, September 13th with the Austin Blacks!

Festivities start at 8pm with drink specials that include:

$3 Lonestars
$6 Lemon Drops
$7 Ranch Waters

Wristbands will be given out at the door to all Austin Blacks players, friends, and family.

The Austin Blacks are hosting the Austin 10s Rugby Tournament at Burr Field on October 26th for Halloween weekend!

There will be Two Divisions competing:
- Men’s Open Division
- Old Boys Division

Tournament registration is $400 per team. Clubs entering multiple teams pay $350 per team.

🚨🚨🚨 2024/2025 Austin Blacks Schedule Release! 🚨🚨🚨

We’ve got exciting matches for all three divisions and we couldn’t be more stoked to get training started!

Our AGM will take place at Burr Field on October 1st, with touch rugby happening from 6pm - 7pm followed by dinner and the annual meeting.

Training officially starts on October 15th and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at Burr Field throughout the season.

We encourage all levels of experience to come out and enjoy the game we love so much!

If you’re interested in joining, show up to a training and be sure to bring a mouthpiece and some water!
