This is our Distillery Reserve Series #14: Madeira 🍷

This one-of-a-kind label was created by local tattoo artist , who has been inking up Austin for the past 16 years. Dylan's inspiration for the label art reflects Austin, TX, and Dylan’s foundation in American Traditional and Folk Art. (I mean, how sick is this label!?) 🐱

For this Distillery Reserve Series release, we started with our rye whiskey aged 2.5 years and finished it for 11 months in ex-Madeira casks for a rich, complex flavor profile.

TASTING NOTES:

NOSE: Earthy and sweet. A splash of spiced plum. 🌶️
PALATE: Sweet molasses and charred oranges. 🍊
FINISH: Hints of cherry cordial, soft leather, graham cracker 🍒crust.

What makes it so rare? Our Head Distiller, John Schrepel, tends to create crazy experiments with mash bills that you can only dream of. This one turned out so exceptional we decided to release it for the world to see! This first release is a true one of one - you’ll never see this mash bill and age again!

Meet “Rare Stock,” this Malted Blue Corn Bourbon Whiskey is mind-blowing! It opens with notes of raw honey 🍯and sugar plum 🍭. It is complemented by nuances of creamsicle 🍦 and lightly roasted coffee beans ☕. On the palate, where hints of berries 🫐 and cream mingle with vibrant tangerine 🍊 and the comforting flavors of carrot cake 🥕 and cookie dough 🍪. The finish is remarkably long and velvety, with flavors of bitter chocolate 🍫 and the nostalgic sweetness of campfire s’mores.

This Summer release was a fan favorite when it was released last year, and with an additional year of aging, its got more of the special sauce 👨‍🍳. Represented by the heat-loving snake and cactus, we combined the robust Jimmy Red corn with the sweet spice of rye.

Bottled in Bond: Red Corn Bourbon Whiskey will be available for purchase at the Still Austin distillery starting TUESDAY, JUNE 4th. It will also be available in select retail locations and online later that month. (More details to come)

LADY MARMALADE 🍊

- 1.5 oz Still Austin Straight Bourbon
- 3 Spoonfuls Orange Marmalade
- 0.5 oz Orange Juice
- 0.5 oz Grapefruit Juice

Shake all ingredients together and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with rosemary, orange zest, and salt rim.

For those keeping score at home, that means all four of our flagship whiskies are now SFWSC Double Gold medal winners. We couldn’t be more proud of this whiskey expression for bringing home the Double Gold this year.

- Still Austin was invited by the EPA to help set the standard for sustainability in distilling.

COMING SOON: Announcing our newest Distillery Reserve Series release: Ruby Red Port Barrel Finished Straight Rye Whiskey. 🖋️🥃

For this Distillery Reserve Series, we partnered with Texas author Stacey Swann. Each hand-written label contains a fragment of her story, available in its entirety online.

This spirit is 54% ABV/108 proof with a mash bill of 100% rye. It has been aged for 4 years and then finished for an additional 8 months in Ruby Red Port barrels. Opening with hints of mulled wine on the nose, the palate offers spiced cranberry jam and chocolate-covered raisins. The finish is rounded out by cocoa, wild berries, cinnamon and light barrel spice.

Ruby Red Port Finished Straight Rye Whiskey will be available for online purchase on Monday, April 15th starting at 1PM CT. NOTE: This spirit cannot be shipped and must be picked up at the Still Austin Tasting room only.
