Misallocation of Funds, Not the Storm, Caused Beryl Power Failures - Life:Powered 07/24/2024

Most, if not all, of the utilities in Texas have bent the knee to the climate cartel by embracing ESG and opposing reliability standards for heavily subsidized alternative energy sources, namely wind and solar.

This has weakened our infrastructure such that even a relatively mild storm — Beryl struck Texas at just category one — can render millions without power for days.

Misallocation of Funds, Not the Storm, Caused Beryl Power Failures - Life:Powered When Hurricane Beryl approached the Texas coast, families in the storm’s path were rightly worried about gale-force winds and flooding. Power outages are always expected in hurricane season — but nobody anticipated over a million households and businesses losing power, and nobody expected 500,0...

The Connect the Grid Act introduced by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Greg Casar is not the solution Texas needs to make our energy grid more reliable. This is simply a policy to force more wind and solar into the grid and to subject Texas to more burdensome federal and interstate regulations and inefficiencies. Texas can provide affordable and reliable electricity to its citizens by fixing its electricity market and undoing the market distortions and subsidies that overvalue wind and solar and undervalue dispatchable generation.

From the Texas Public Policy Foundation's Jason Isaac: The UN’s is underway, where world leaders disembark from their gas-guzzling private jets to spout climate misinformation and tout the U.N.’s China-led agriculture group who lecture people to eat bugs.

Instead of phony climate fights that will ruin lives and benefit China, our world leaders should focus on projects that improve the lives of those they serve.

Biden’s electric vehicle push speeds past market demand; dealerships at loss, taxpayers paying costs 11/27/2023

EV subsidies and the Biden administration’s regulatory regime are forcing the transition to EVs to happen much faster than consumers want it, and much faster than automakers are able to make it happen. – TPPF’s Brent Bennett

Get the TRUTH about Biden’s EV agenda⬇️

Biden’s electric vehicle push speeds past market demand; dealerships at loss, taxpayers paying costs A new study calculates taxpayers are on the hook for a staggering $50,000 for every electric vehicle sold or $22 billion annually, but electric vehicle sales have cooled.

Photos from Life: Powered's post 11/22/2023

The Biden administration’s Department of Energy is trying to push its electric vehicle agenda with some misleading claims about EV sales. Despite this EV propaganda, the facts speak for themselves and prove that the American people aren’t buying it.

Projects to build EV charging ports have received billions in federal subsidies, all paid for by YOU – the taxpayer. The increased charging stations also put a HUGE strain on the electric grid. Fast charging one EV in under an hour may consume as much power as 100 homes.

A large part of consumer hesitation on EVs comes from the higher upfront cost, and EV sales still only account for a very small portion of the market.

The truth is that EVs are still not affordable enough to compete with gas cars. Our research shows that EVs benefit from generous subsidies, making the true cost of an EV nearly $50,000 more than the current sticker price over 10 years.

Fueling electric vehicles costs roughly the equivalent of $17 a gallon: Study 11/14/2023

The Texas Public Policy Foundation's Brent Bennett and Jason Isaac found that fueling electric vehicles costs roughly $17 per gallon, but EV drivers are only paying a fraction of that cost.

“EV advocates claim that the cost of electricity for EV owners is equal to $1.21 per gallon of gasoline. Adding the costs of the subsidies to the true cost of fueling an EV would equate to an EV owner paying $17.33 per gallon of gasoline.”

The true cost of EVs is more than the sticker price 11/13/2023

🚨🚨NEW from Dr. Brent Bennett and Jason Isaac: President Biden’s administration wants 67% of new cars sold to be electric vehicles by 2032.

The problem is that this green dream is physically impossible to achieve in the next 10 years, and our new research at the Texas Public Policy Foundation shows how much Americans are already paying to try to achieve it.

Electric vehicles are a bad bargain for everyone 11/07/2023

Electric vehicles are a bad bargain for the American people. In 2021, $22 billion of government subsidies hid nearly $49,000 of the cost of producing EACH EV. To repeat: $49,000 of hidden costs per vehicle. These costs are borne by gasoline vehicle owners, taxpayers, and utility ratepayers, who are all paying a hefty price for someone else’s EV.

Electric vehicles are a bad bargain for everyone If electric vehicles are as good as the Biden administration would have us believe, why are they so unpopular?
