GSD&Mers get 4 hours of volunteer service they can use every month to do good in their communities. In May, alongside the launch of the USAF PSA on volunteerism “Call Out Volunteers,” we called ourselves out to volunteer more and we did! We helped the Central Texas Food Bank by preparing around 500 meals to be distributed to various afterschool activities for kids. We prepared hot and cold meals and then sealed them up for efficient delivery. We donated 2 overflowing donation bins to the Austin Diaper Bank. We donated Stanleys to the families and patients at Superhero Kids. And last but not least, we went out to Civitan Park with the Austin Parks Foundation and cleared excess mulch from young trees which will help ensure proper growth.
