Meet Kyle and Andrew, one of our newest families to be approved to adopt!

"Since the earliest days of our relationship, we’ve been excited to adopt. Andrew’s uncle and Kyle’s grandfather and aunt are adopted so we’ve seen first-hand how enriching adoptions can be for families. We can’t wait to shower a child with all the love in the world and would be honored to build a beautiful family together. "

Men – Have you ever had a one-night stand and wondered if a pregnancy resulted? What if contact information wasn’t exchanged? Or dated someone briefly but lost touch? What happens if she decides to consider adoption? How would you feel about that? Whether or not you would want to parent or place, most would want to know what is going on in the situation.

In Texas, you have the right to parent a child that is biologically yours. One way to protect that right is by signing up for the Texas Paternity Registry.

Learn more about the Paternity Registry in Texas and how it can help protect your rights as a father.

Meet Laura and Matt, one of our newest families approved to adopt!

"Adoption holds a special place in our hearts— as it’s woven into the fabric of both our family stories. After navigating a challenging birthing journey with Melody that left Laura unable to conceive again, we realized that our longing to grow our family transcends biological ties. We are drawn to the concept of an open adoption, where the birth family seamlessly integrates into our extended family circle. Our hope is for our future child to comprehend their roots and to be enveloped in love and support from all directions. It’s a journey where we not only welcome a new individual but also embrace their culture, heritage, and traditions wholeheartedly."

Language matters, and this idea is especially true when it comes to adoption. By using neutral adoption language – also sometimes called respectful adoption language – you can acknowledge the experiences of birth parents, adoptive families and adoptees with both respect and support.

These are just a few of the words and phrases we recommend avoiding, and what to say instead. Curious why? Find out in our blog post "Talking About Adoption: Say This, Not That."
