Waiting to buy a home??? Well don’t!! Jump in now!! On Wednesday - The Fed decided to leave interest rates unchanged. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell stated “We are prepared to raise rates further if appropriate and intend to hold policy at a restrictive level until we are confident that inflation is moving down sustainably towards our objectives.” The FOMC’s “dot plot” puts the terminal rate at 5.5% to 5.75% by the end of 2023 with reductions starting later in 2024 into 2025.

This was not the best news. Good news that there wasn’t .25 rate increase at this meeting BUT bad news that we now expect mortgage rates higher for longer. So do not wait! Call me if you need help!!
