A delicious shaved prime rib and cheesy cous cous lunch. I understand why companies charge 3 to 4k for slide out kitchens. It is a snug and custom fit. You have to really know your options on what to get. There are so many ways to organize your overland vehicle. My kitchen works for my needs. I don’t cook too extravagantly. I would if I had a some more space to prep. I worked in some fine dining restaurants in the past and that food knowledge rubs off on you. I’m a good cook and I do have a good palette. I also can eat chicken out of a can when I have to. 🐔 😁
I am waiting on my frankenbike to be put together in Texas. It’s either going to work or it won’t. My bike has a shorter geometry so I hope it will work out. You won’t know unless you try. I am saving for a new bike. I want to look at all the options. There are so many to choose from. I will take my time because this is going to be an expensive purchase.

These solar panels work great. I purchased these for a backup. I will be getting dedicated power for the fridge and other electronics in the future. If you get solar panels make sure to get the mono crystalline panels. The flexible ones don’t last as long. However these panels are 120 watts and weigh about 11 pounds. So they will be a great backup system.

Here I am in 2014 at one hell of a trail system by Killeen, Texas. This is BLORA ( Belton lake outdoor recreation area )
I just got my Santa Cruz Solo (aka 5010 ) I went on an adventure after buying my Thule box from someone down here. The trail was really burly at the time. There was a paintball combat course and a hunting area down there. It was a challenge to find the right path. I had a great time exploring and will return again to video it when I get back to Texas. If it’s still open to riding.

Okay I have so many stories. This is one of them from 2013. Me and Chris were off work one day and decided to do mushrooms and drink Irish whiskey. Then we ran into Otis who was living behind a 7-11 in North Dallas. I bought him a big gulp and we listened to his stories. I think he became aggressive because I was tripping so hard and I thought he smelled like butterflies. So I got closer. Well maybe Chris can fill in the rest. At least I got a photo with

What a ride! Such a ridiculously amazing trail system. My legs are toast from the climbs. The reward was some tasty downhill flow. The crescent trail has a lot of other trails that feed off of it. Got totally lost and even found the Horizon Hill conservation area. That had even more trails. Too much to explore in one outing. So I will hit it later on.

Successful night ride. Although I don’t know how I ended up at a golf course. The Crescent trail is filled with some really good tech climbs and some semi-rowdy downhill flow. I found myself at dead end areas into neighborhoods. Only to find some more trail extensions across the street. Great place to explore.

Being here in New York has inspired a lot of new ideas. Lots of creative energy. What helps the most is staying fit. The weight room at the community center says 209 pounds. I came here on June 22 weighing 227 pounds.
I have been eating mainly protein and
I love a cold beer after work or riding. The weight loss feels really good. I definitely feel more agile on the bike. I feel race ready.
I don’t worry about calories. I just want to be happy. That means beer, cookies and riding my bike are what is best for me. Living in the moment and surrounding myself with good people who are equally as passionate about their happiness. Also I need to buy that book from that dude can shoot.👍

I think the one thing in my arsenal of my photography equipment is having my drone. I had the first DJI drone in 2017 and I used it so much I used it almost every day practicing flying learning and shooting videos and photos.
I spent the first two years learning to be a really good pilot. I accomplished those goals. I was flying many times in scenarios of extreme weather. has a new one coming out in a year that I heard about, perhaps that is the one that I will get to do some cool projects in 2023.
If I could have a drone that held a flash then my new work could become reality. Always thinking of creating some amazing portraits.

I first rode in 2017. I had no idea what true jumps were like. I was traveling all over around the south just exploring any trails I could ride. I know now the best way is to contact your local bike shop. That way you can ride with some locals to find the best spots. I just loved running solo and taking my time finding out about the trail by myself. Now I contact the locals to find te most delicious areas to ride.

I am kind of hooked on the hammock camping. IMy is been working perfect. It’s a full time adventure with lots of critters coming to check me out in the middle of the night. The only thing that wakes me up is the delivery person across the street. Usually between 12-4 am. They are just throwing their cart around. When your loving full time out of your vehicle it is a constant engineering process. How can you improve this and that. Adding little features to your vehicle is so rewarding. Coming up with new ways to do things easier makes your life much better. The carabiners on the outside of my truck create so many options to use them I so many different ways. A huge thank you to everyone that sends me helpful links on new gear. I greatly appreciate it. My truck is in constant reorganization. I take it all day by day. Okay time for lunch.

I started fishing when I was 9 years old with my Dad. We used open-faced reels and fly rods. Our first trip in 1976 to the Guadalupe river was the beginning of some of the best days of vigorous fishing for years to come. Learning the art of throwing the fly rod properly. Learning to cast and all the small nuances that has made me a great fisherman. My Dad incorporated using flys and bass poppers to fish the as well.
All we did was fish and camp out of my Dad’s red Volkswagen van. It was some of our closest bonding moments before 1981 hit. Then I went on to do punk rock skateboard things. My Dad found single life and a hankering for the ladies.
However, he made damn sure that camping and fishing were deeply engrained in my soul.
When ever I fish I always feel him there. It’s something that he loved deeply and he was a great role model for me.
He is in a home now in Austin. I talk to him sometimes when he is able. He did the best he could with what he had at the time.
The were an amazing time to see the world. Especially as a young boy.

I have tried Fox knee pads about 3 different styles. They did a good job but were really uncomfortable. I had some old 661 protection 2016 those were the best because they had the hard plastic. Those really saved my body the most. However they were really bulky. So I tried these VPD 2.0 on. These are the best as far as comfort. The foam is really soft at the most tightest points. The protection goes really far on the side of the knees. So for my old and damaged skateboard knees this is a really essential part of keeping my knees protected.
I will know more when I have a good impact on how well they do under pressure. The fox pads did not do well when I had my last big crash. My left knee is still a little janky after that crash. So far the comfort is far superior than anything I have tried. These are size large so definitely try them on first before purchasing. have these in stock or the fine folks there can help you out.

Just an epic ride theough some fine
I just love this terrain! Beefy roots and pine needle terrain. The smells here are so damn good. I will venture out to some other trails close to Rochester. Some of the local peeps have filled me with some good trail intel to check out. Super excited to ride some more. The feels like an old friend the bike is so responsive and the rear linkage is dynamite. I am looking for a trigger system to fire my camera while jumping. might have had one he was using it looked like a brake lever attached to the handle bar. I was trying to shoot some video but I was wasting disk space by hitting the record button and then running back to the start of where I wanted to shoot. So filming by myself has some big challenges. I want to shoot some really good angles but it takes a lot of time shooting by myself.

The trails so damn fun! I went out most of the afternoon and just kept making loops. The weather helped a lot. August up here is the only time it gets hot and sticky. So the last few days were brutal. Today’s ride was really good. Overcast skies and a cool breeze. Also a little sunny out. Perfect for my favorite shades.

Another glorious trail ride. It felt so good today. The is really dialed in. Also been getting some good workouts lately. Lots of stretching. Feeling stronger than usual. I’ve been using the cable machine at the gym more. I like doing the chopping motion then do a superset with the pulling motion. I use chocolate whey with bananas to get that delicious 50 grams of protein. ( 2 scoops )
I had some hard boiled eggs today too. I think I fortified my body to ride extra hard today.
It really worked. I did partake in some over the weekend to celebrate my buddy Juan’s birthday. He is in Dallas but we stay in touch regularly. We have been friends for 31 years. He is a pharmacist and also appreciates some every now and then. We like it straight with a back. Preferably the Grand Marnier in a snifter.
