📣We’ve got some bittersweet news to share. The one and only Carra Martinez () is moving on to her next professional chapter this month. Carra will be joining the extraordinary team at YoungArts in Miami as their Senior Director of Artistic Programs.
Founded in 1981, YoungArts () identifies exceptional young artists, amplifies their potential, and invests in their lifelong creative freedom. It’s a fantastic organization with a brilliant team, and Carra will undoubtedly do great and mighty things in this new role.
Carra is one of the smartest, funniest, and big-hearted people we’ve ever met. She is a brilliant colleague and dear friend. Her role with Fusebox as Co-Artistic Director and Director of Live in America was transformational. She has helped shape and expand our thinking in so many ways. Her leadership, vision, and producing of Live in America was truly inspired.
Thanks for everything, Carra! You are forever part of the Fusebox family. We are so excited for you and the YoungArts team. We will miss you tremendously! ❤️❤️
Look who we ran into at the Edinburgh Fringe! Chris Grace is knocking the socks off festival audiences with Sardines (A Comedy About Death) that we had the pleasure of presenting, in its workshop version, this past April at Fusebox! Busy as ever, he's even brought back his hit show Chris Grace as Scarlett Johansson. Can't wait for more audiences to laugh so hard they cry and cry so hard they laugh 😂 ❤️

Join us June 15th at 2:00pm, for a new iteration of Gesel Mason’s () YES, AND
Marking the last of three Host: Fusebox programs, this performance will occupy all floors of the Jones Center, with Lubaina Himid’s work as a stage, the audience is invited to be immersed by both works, traveling up and culminating at the Rooftop followed by a reception.
Yes, And is a collection of performance experiments that place an expanded vision of Black womanhood at the center of its creative process. It takes an iterative approach to performance informed by the creative expertise and lived experiences of Black women (cisgender, transgender, and gender non-conforming.) Yes, And asks: “Who would you be and what would you do if, as a Black woman, you had nothing to worry about? What would you create and how might you be in community with others?” These questions catalyze a methodology of undoing and re-imagining that offers participants and witnesses the freedom “to find” and to “be found” from this recalibrated place.

Featuring local artists and .beau.elliot, they brought their moving performances to this unique, durational, spatial, ever-evolving experience.
