Preserving the history of the Avella Area is at risk! If we don’t act to save it, it will be lost. The AD White Research Society located at the Train Station in Avella is dedicated to protecting the storied history of the Avella Area. There are a handful of devoted volunteers archiving, filing, etc. If you have time to volunteer, please join us. Your financial support is needed to keep the AD White Research Society viable. Please help! With your support, we will be able to purchase acid free storage, digitizing audio and video tapes, etc. Without your support, the AD White Research Society may be forced to close or move the books, articles, archives, etc. to another location. Every dollar counts, help save our history.

If you would like to see what we are doing at the AD White Research Society, we’ll be open from 9 am – 1 pm on Memorial Day to remember the men and women from the area who served our country.

The board has made great progress in keeping the Society going and active for the near future.

We need membership support, financial and participation, for the longer term. Join us on April 27 to become part of the solution.

Thanks to all who met on Saturday. There was a lot of energy and folks stepping up to do a myriad of tasks to keep the Society going in the short term and do some long term planning.

An initial step will be to solicit dues from current and new members.

I invite you to join me and some other interested people in a discussion on the future of the Society and its physical assets.
Our assets include a modernized building with easy access, modern shelving and storage, and a trove of local family histories.
Our liabilities are a shortage of volunteers, lack of consistent revenue and outdated office equipment.
