PinCo is proud to donate whenever possible to local communities. The most recent was the ability to donate to Bakersfield Homeless Shelter and The Mission of Bakersfield who were able to make 6,000 meals for hungry families!

Panama-Buena Vista School District preparing a special food distribution for the kids for Spring Break tomorrow morning! Our member districts do such great things for the community and their students! Keep up the great work!!!

On Feb 20, 2021, PinCo was privileged to provide meal donations for Voices of Our Youth - Together We Stand's Drive-Thru Distribution at Lake Los Angeles. We received recognition by the State of California's Senate and Assembly for both our warehouse and our Co-Op President Joe Cook! Such a great opportunity to give back to the communities and make a difference for the better!

--Monday Member Feature--
Today's feature is Ray, from Lost Hills School District.
Ray is a Nutritional Services Manager. His job duties are Production scheduling, menu planning, ordering, keeping productions records, and overall program management. Ray has been with Lost Hills for 2 1/2 years but in nutrition for 22 years.
His favorite thing about being in PinCo, is that PinCo gives him the access to people that he can turn to with questions. PinCo provides a support group of school districts because they each face similar challenges and no matter how big or small the district is, they have an equal say as to what goes on with the commodities.
Ray's favorite food is BBQ spare ribs. and his hobbies are HS softball, fishing, and spending time with his family.

This week we have Monday Member Feature for Jose!
He is a storekeeper 3 in the freezer for PinCo's Warehouse crew. His duties include Preparing orders for deliveries to districts and all around warehousing functions. Jose has been with PinCo for 5 years, and likes that PinCo helps provide the nutrition for our future.

Jose says his favorite hobby is Mountain jogging.

-Did You Know? -
The good old yellow banana we eat and love is a genetic variation on the numerous other varieties (more than 500 to be more precise). It is also the sweetest variety of all. Furthermore, bananas appear in a whole rainbow of colors – some are even vibrant pink and taste more like strawberries. They also come in many shapes and sizes, from large purple-colored plantains to tiny finger fruits.

Today is National Cheese Lover's Day! We at PinCo love our cheese! Here are just a few almost empty pallets of the cheese we have available to our members. These are just a small sampling of the several options we have available to our members.

For this week's Member Spotlight we are featuring Chris from Joe Walker School of Westside School District. Chris unloads and stocks the deliveries for the school, as well as cleans and maintains the central kitchen and preps for transport. He's been with the school for 15+ years and says the best thing he like the most about working with PinCo is the delivery person from PinCo's warehouse, Ray!

Chris' favorite food is pizza and his hobbies are playing guitar, flying drones, airbrushing, and hanging out with his family.
