Iceland has many Christmas myths, like the mischievous Yule Lads and their terrifying mother Gryla. I want to talk about their pet, the Yule Cat.
While the picture makes him look fluffy, you wouldn't want to come face to face with this feline. He is huge and vicious, it is said that he eats children that don't receive new clothes before Christmas Eve.
Yule Cat, it's not the kids fault! I guess this is a way for children to stop being disappointed when the receive socks for a present...

Kern County residents with a valid Kern County library cards in good standing can request books that the Library does not own. Zip Books are shipped directly to their home from Amazon. When finished, the book is returned to the library and potentially added to the collection!
