Do you know that recycling asphalt saves American taxpayers more than $300 million each year? Moreover, compared to concrete, asphalt reduces road construction time, resulting in fewer traffic disruptions.

To properly complete the sealcoating process, the air and pavement temperature should be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit for the duration of the application and for 8 hours following the application.

For a substantially weathered and eroded paving surface, surface-milling and an asphalt overlay can be an outstanding and cost-effective option that allows you to add years of service life to your paving while defeating the cost of a full replacement.

Do you know that more than 90% of parking areas in the United States are surfaced with asphalt pavement? Asphalt is the material of choice for most residential and commercial development owners.

Over time, with exposure to the elements, asphalt pavement becomes faded in appearance. A fresh sealcoat application is all you need to enhance its appearance and make it look new again.

What is the prime coat? It is an application of a low viscosity asphalt to a granular base in preparation for a surface course layer of asphalt. The prime coat acts as an initial sealer in the asphalt laying process.

Crushed angular gravel is the best base for an asphalt driveway. This base needs to be at least 6 inches thick for light vehicle traffic such as cars and pickup trucks.

During ancient Egyptian times, asphalt from the Dead Sea was an important item of trade. It had its most widespread use in the mummification process.

How long does an asphalt driveway last? A properly installed asphalt driveway should generally last between 15 – 20 years. Its life expectancy also depends on traffic, climatic conditions, and maintenance.

If your city offers asphalt basketball or tennis courts, you can make them more enjoyable for the local citizenry by sealing them on a periodic basis and repainting the lines. In addition to keeping the surface looking good, it extends its life.

Preparing for better days is more than being optimistic. It also makes for good planning decisions, especially as we look to reopen and expand capacities, like with our Customer at College of the Desert in Palm Desert.

A tack coat ensures a bond between the succeeding layers of asphalt pavement. A slow-setting emulsion diluted 50/50 with water is used as a material for a tack coat.

Asphalt resurfacing is great - it's quicker, cheaper, and in some cases just as effective as a replacement. However, there are instances where replacement becomes necessary. It's expensive, but it also doubles the life of your asphalt pavement.

Spring is the best time to seal an asphalt driveway. The season offers the perfect temperature for a well-set coat, ensuring that driveways and parking lots look great for the entire year.

Prior to the sealcoating process, the asphalt surface should be cleared of all dirt and debris. Apart from that, minor repairs, like cracks and potholes, should be filled and vehicle fluids, like oil, should be properly removed.

Asphalt resurfacing, pouring a new layer of asphalt over your existing driveway or parking lot, can make the surface as good as new. It is super durable, smooth, and cheaper than total replacement.
