Swimming lessons are still on for tonight, but if the rain intensifies, safety lessons will be held in the Pool office.
Update on the pool hours, we will be open Wednesday, June 19th from 12:30-6:25pm.

Confidential Secretary to the Supervisor (Part Time)
The Town of Van Buren is seeking someone with outstanding customer service skills to serve in the role of Confidential Secretary to the Supervisor. This is a part-time appointed position, 20
hours a week, Monday through Friday working at the Town Hall.
This position supports the Town Supervisor by performing secretarial duties, general office tasks
and special projects as necessary.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent attention to detail
Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to clearly communicate with others
The Town offers:
$19.00 an hour
Paid time off and 13 paid holidays

JOB OPENINING
A job opening exists in the Codes Department for the position of Clerk 1 at a current hourly rate of $25.10.
The general clerical job duties are as follows:
Posts simple and routine data to various departmental records and complies reports on tabulations of posted data and perform mathematical computations.
Acts as receptions directing callers to proper person or office and gives information regarding departmental procedure in person or by telephone;
Answers telephone calls, takes messages, and relays information director to employee over a telecommunications system;
Receives and screens applications, vouches or other forms for accuracy of content and compliance with procedural and regulatory requirements;
Creates, tracks and maintains individual files;
Prepares letters and types envelopes, forms and brief reports and files as required
Will operate a computer and knowledge and experience with MS Word, excel, and email system required;
May open, sort, distribute, and file mail as required;
Prepares monthly packets for members of the Planning/Zoning Board of Appeals;
Publishes meeting agenda as per required deadline;
Will attend monthly Planning/Zoning Board of Appeals meetings and take notes and publish meeting minutes in a timely manner;
Performs work under the direct supervisor of the Codes Enforcement Officer.
Does related work as required.

Recreation Supervisor (full-time)
Town of Van Buren
The Town of Van Buren is looking to hire a Recreation Supervisor. This is a full-time appointed position, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday with some nights and weekends.
The candidate will be responsible for organizing and implementing recreation programs. Under the general supervision of the Director of Parks and Recreation the employee plans, organizes and implements recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, sports and special events. Depending on the size of the total program, the Recreation Supervisor may participate as a leader in specific activities and may supervise subordinate personnel.
The Town offers:
Starting salary $52,000, as of 1/1/24
Paid time off and 13 paid holidays

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Previous work experience in the recreation field
Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Ability to plan and coordinate recreational activities
Ability to clearly communicate with others
The candidate will be required to qualify and sit for the next Recreation Supervisor Civil Service exam through Onondaga County.
