Steve Mogul, Bangor Injury and Family Law Attorney
Whether you're injured in a car crash, or facing the upheaval of divorce, I can help. I've been helping people in the state of Maine since 1984.
I love what I do and I’m happy to talk with your about your problems. I’ll treat you with respect and compassion because I know you come to me in times of great stress and anxiety. I’m backed up by my law firm, Gross, Minsky & Mogul, P.A., and the best team of attorneys and support staff any lawyer could ask for. The firm was founded in 1938. I’ve been practicing law since 1984, but I’ve been with
From all of us at Gross, Minsky & Mogul, we hope you had a festive Independence Day. Our Red, White & Blue Day (July 3rd) certainly was. Thanks Debbie!
The view from my window tonight.
I fully endorse this statement from the American Association for Justice, of which I am a proud member.
AAJ President Sean Domnick responds to former President Donald Trump's recent attacks on the American justice system, including threatening judges, their staff, and families.
Samantha has been with us since 2019, practicing family law. In those few years she's served on the board of the Penobscot County Bar Association, and was just elected its president. She also serves as the District 9 Governor representing Penobscot County on the Maine State Bar Association Board of Governors.
Samantha has been receiving accolades both from her clients (check out her Google Reviews) and from her colleagues outside the firm. I've seen her go head to head with some of our area's most experienced family law attorneys. If you need a family law attorney, you'd be lucky to have her.

It's that time of year again at 23 Water Street, home of Gross, Minsky & Mogul. So beautiful!
And so it begins! Drive safely. It's been a while and we're rusty.
My partner, Ed Gould, and his wife Lynn, manned a table for the firm at the Bangor Humane Society’s Paws on Parade last weekend to celebrate the Parade’s 30th anniversary. The folks at Gross, Minsky & Mogul are tremendous dog lovers and we support our furry friends in multiple ways. On behalf of GM&M, Ed and Lynn gave away doggie poo bag flashlights to the participants and their humans (a very popular item at the parade and handy on those nighttime walks). And to our all the canines out there: who’s a good dog? Who’s a good dog? You’re a good dog. Yes you are. Yes you are!
Happy 4th of July on the 247th anniversary of our independence! 🇺🇸 (Photo from our celebration last Friday.)
If you're thinking about divorce, or separation from your child's other parent, you owe it to yourself and to your family to look into Collaborative Divorce, an alternative way to restructure your family with dignity and respect. I am a trained Collaborative Divorce Attorney. Get in touch and I'd be happy to send you more information.
Benefits of Collaborate Divorce:
1. It promotes a peaceful resolution - Collaborative divorce encourages a peaceful and respectful resolution to your divorce. Instead of fighting over every little detail, you and your spouse can work together to come up with a solution that meets both of your needs.
2. It saves time and money - Collaborative divorce is typically less expensive than a traditional divorce because you are not paying for court fees and attorneys to argue your case. Additionally, it can be quicker because you are not waiting for court dates or decisions from a judge.
3. It prioritizes the needs of children - If you have children, collaborative divorce can be beneficial for them. It allows you and your spouse to work together to create a parenting plan that best meets your children's needs. This can help reduce conflict and stress for everyone involved.
4. It allows for creative solutions - Collaborative divorce allows for more flexibility in finding solutions that work for both parties. Instead of being limited to what a judge may order, you and your spouse can get creative and come up with unique solutions that fit your specific situation.
5. It preserves relationships - Finally, collaborative divorce can help preserve relationships. If you have children, you will continue to have a relationship with your ex-spouse. Working together in a collaborative divorce can help improve communication and set the foundation for a healthy co-parenting relationship moving forward.
Maine attorneys have been notified that the Maine Child Support Guidelines have been revised, and that the new Guidelines will go into effect tomorrow, February 14. If you are receiving Child Support, you may want to check to see whether you are entitled to an increase. If your child support order is less than three years old, you may request a modification only if the modification would result in an increase of more than 15%. If your Child Support Order is three years old or older, you don't have to meet the 15% threshold in order to seek a modification. Let me know if I can help.
It's that time of year again at Key Plaza.
I recently attended a full-day seminar entitled, Legal Year in Review, sponsored by the Maine State Bar Association at the Augusta Civic Center. This is how attorneys keep up to speed on current developments in the law. Our laws are not static, but are continually changing and evolving. Thanks to the MSBA for sponsoring this program every year, and for having it live for the 1st time since… well, you know.
Gross, Minsky & Mogul's newest attorney, Cameron Oullette, was officially sworn in at the Penobscot Judicial Center, and is now licensed to practice law. Maine Supreme Court Justice Andrew Mead presided (and posed for photos) as family, friends and colleagues gathered in the courtroom. Each attorney newly admitted to the bar signed a book that's been signed by Penobscot County admitees since the 1800s.
Cameron's family is from Ellsworth and his fiance is working for the City of Ellsworth. I hope you'll join me in welcoming both to the community.
I've just reached 400 followers! Thank you all for your support. ⚖
I'm proud that Gross, Minsky & Mogul is co-sponsoring the Bangor Band's 163rd season finale tonight at the Waterfront Concerts Maine Savings Amphitheater. I'll be on stage to thank the Band, rain or shine. Come check out one of Bangor's treasures.
Happy Independence Day from Gross, Minsky & Mogul!
Got to the office early this morning and this was the view that greeted me.
Gross, Minsky & Mogul has supported the Bangor Symphony Orchestra for many years, including the sponsorship of one of the symphony’s musicians and donating an items to the annual Symphony Soiree and Auction. This year, GM&M has donated a decadent spa package that will eliminate any remaining stress from 2021 and give you a head start against 2022’s trials and tribulations. You can find, and bid on our Spa Basket here:

Got a glimpse of the sun late this afternoon and grabbed a quick video out my window before it disappeared. I love Maine!
Hello to you all. First, to those of you who I’ve represented, thank you for putting your trust in me and allowing me into your lives in order to help you through a difficult time. I hope I served you well with my counsel.
Second, this is to ask you for a Google review (unless you’ve already given me one). I often hear positive comments from clients while their matter is pending and after their case is concluded. It takes just a minute or two to leave a review, and doing so may help others who are looking for an attorney. If you would like to leave a review, click here:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ChIJ9dJ2RVtLrkwRdFIt2sWsb6w
Please don’t share the particulars of your case, but I would welcome a description of what it was like to work with me, whether I was able to decrease your anxiety about a matter, my ability to explain things, etc. Comments you think someone looking for an attorney might want to know can be very helpful.
Of course, if there’s something you feel I could do better, I am happy to hear about that too. And thanks!
I'm so happy to introduce the newest member of the Gross, Minsky & Mogul family. Say hello to Clark. And congratulations to Samantha and Jacob Baker! Our family law clients have really taken to Samantha since she joined us two years ago. They missed her greatly while she was on maternity leave, and are very happy to have her back. So am I!
Our first gathering since the start of the pandemic. WHAT A TREAT! Thank you to this crew for being careful and keep each other healthy and safe. Debbie, our office administrated was a big part of that success.
Happy Fourth of July everyone. Be safe and have fun. I’ll be in the Maine woods until Wednesday. Going to do some fly fishing on the mighty West Branch of the Penobscot River with some friends that have made it an annual camping event. We missed last year so this will be extra nice. Can’t wait to light the campfire! Catching fish? That would be nice, but not the most important part. I don’t keep them anyway.
And thank you to the Wabanaki people who, through their stewardship, preserved and protected these magnificent lands and waters for centuries. I pledge to do what I can to carry on that tradition. Take only pictures and leave only footprints. And maybe pick up some trash along the way.
The firm recently received thank-you notes and chocolate notes for our support of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. At 125 years young, the BSO is the country’s longest, continually operating symphony orchestra! Gross, Minsky & Mogul has been a supporter of this venerable Bangor institution for as long as I can remember (though perhaps not from its beginning. After all, we’ve “only” been around for 83 years).
The firm’s most senior attorney, Norman Minsky, celebrated his 91st birthday today. Norman comes into the office nearly every day (when he’s not in Florida) and is still a licensed and practicing Maine attorney. I’m looking forward to following his lead ... someday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORMAN!!!

Our Story
I've been helping people in the state of Maine since 1984. I love what I do and I’m happy to talk with you about your problems. I’ll treat you with respect and compassion because I know you come to me in times of great stress and anxiety.
I’m backed up by my law firm, Gross, Minsky & Mogul, P.A., and the best team of attorneys and support staff any lawyer could ask for. The firm was founded in 1938. I’ve been practicing law since 1984, but I’ve been with the firm since I was six months old. That’s when my father, Jules Mogul, moved to Bangor to join his brother-in-law, Edward Gross, and his partner, Norman Minsky in the practice of law. And now, everyone here is my family.
